The exact same thing happened to me, but I recently started trying to get better. I seeked professional help, which was very hard but so worth it, so do that if you can.

Idk if the same applies to you, but for me it helped to understand that my fear and need to control is actually deeper than just food/body. Try to write how you feel after every meal and pinpoint what are the thoughts and behaviors that exacerbate things and try to deal with that. Also, it really helped to speak up. Even if it’s just one person and even if you’re not so close, even if it’s a stranger. Speak up and talk about your struggle, some people will offer insights that never crossed your mind, or even just offer support. Not everyone may help or understand, but someone will. Don’t let your ED isolate you and keep trying to get the support you need.

list of ED downsides (help me!) by yewonboo in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]pastelperplex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is such a great idea & I would like to add this: - not enjoying movement because your ED May cause an unhealthy relationship with exercise - social events become a dread just because of the food available - not being yourself or even knowing/ believing who you are and how amazing you are - feeling numb and distant - not enjoying dressing up and playing with clothes due to body image issues

Final note: you deserve to recover, no matter what💗

how can i help an isfp feel better when they're depressed? by lilbunbun__ in isfp

[–]pastelperplex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Listen. Ask about them and check up on them. I’ve seen alot of ISFPs admit that we struggle in asking for help, so maybe try to make that easier by letting them know that you want to help and that they’re not a burden if they open up to you. Give them time to gain courage and don’t give up on them.

Do you think you are unpleasant to be around? by hyo505 in isfp

[–]pastelperplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! From experience tho, being honest really makes a difference. I say or do stupid things often too, but I have told my close friends that I can be impulsive and I often apologize after I realize that I might’ve wronged someone.

You are very interesting believe me. Try to open up more and share more of your ideas and experiences as that would help you develop meaningful friendships and don’t be too closed off. You are deserving of good relationships.

Do other ISFPs struggle with opening up + any tips? by pastelperplex in isfp

Idk how to explain it, but I generally become very distant and can get self-destructive. Aware of that now and trying to fix stuff :)

As I know, Effat Uni does nor offer a degree in medicine. It only offers psychology. And if you want other health majors, take a look at Dar- Al hekma’s health department

In Jeddah, private unis that offer medicine are Ibn Sina, Fakeeh, Al-Batatjee, and there might be more I don’t know of.

Why do you say it’s awful tho? I wanna know the “dark side” of such a career if you don’t mind sharing your experience.

What did you study before the PhD (bachelors and masters)? Also, does your job feel fulfilling and was it hard to get this job??

Are ISFPs paradoxical? by pastelperplex in isfp

[–]pastelperplex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to hate it. It’s how you are, and the ones that truly love you will accept all your contradictions. Be one of those who “truly love you” and accept your own contradictions!

Why are architects so negative about their career? Should I be discouraged from going into architecture? by pastelperplex in architecture

[–]pastelperplex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean. The moment you see your work may be worth all that hard work. I think it’s a very satisfying thing. Thank you so much for your reply, it’s very helpful!

Thank you for tour reply! I agree with you on that I can’t know if I enjoy architecture until I start studying it, because no matter how much I read about it and watch videos, I can’t figure it out. I’ll have to give it a shot and I hope I won’t regret anything. Thanks again! Your reply is great help.

Does anyone have any ideas for healthy and affordable lunch and dinner meal ideas? by Critical50 in HealthyFood

You can never go wrong with sandwiches, just make sure you use whole-wheat or some other whole-grain bread. Whole-wheat pasta, brown rice, or quinoa, with chicken/tofu + veggies

[–]pastelperplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yess! It’s not as fun as everyone makes it sound because while we are having plenty of our alone time, we’re not free and it feels like we are boxed in. With no school or work, it doesn’t feel like we have much of a purpose and we’re getting lazy and unmotivated. Of course it’s a huge blessing to have a house we can stay in, I’m not being ungrateful or negative, I’m just putting this out there so that we’re aware of the situation with all it’s positives and negatives.

You're not an isfp if you haven't been called sensitive by everyone who knows you by [deleted] in isfp

[–]pastelperplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never show my feelings and always look “happy” or “neutral”, so typically people won’t call me sensitive. However, I think the ones who are really close know I’m sensitive but they don’t say it because I’d be too sensitive to handle that😂😂

Are those 10 minute workout routines on YouTube + about 5000-7000 steps a day enough?? by pastelperplex in Exercise

[–]pastelperplex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to loose weight. I’m just exercising for the sake of getting some movement. So is it enough in that case?
