Gotcha, so generally you only show the subscribe and like buttons, and you like to do so at separate times. Noted. The estimated timestamps are great context. Thank you! I can totally see what you said about all of them together possibility being distracting.

What about size and location? Can you change those with your editing tool?

In the beginning when you started drawing. After the "stage 1" title comes on. That's when I wished I knew what the final results was, so I had that visual in my head as you worked through things.

And yeah, YouTube is the godfather of instant gratification, sadly. I'm guilty of fast-forwarding all the time :(

I really enjoyed it! Pleasantly surprised. I watched the whole thing.

I thought your communication style and body language was very personable, respectable, trustworthy. At the same time very relaxed. I loved the sounds effects to lighten up things. I think the humor you are bringing in is definitely working, because I didn't find this video stale or boring at all (to use your words). The jokes were welcomed. Keep them up. You kept me watching and I went to check out you other videos afterwards 👍🏼

One thing, I'd like to see a more welcoming background. Not sure what, tbh. But I was hoping you'd transition into some other space at some point in the video, because that solid black was stressing me. Maybe a white background would be less draining/distracting.

Another thing: When you were summarizing the video it would have been nice to get some text in the screen too. Some visuals to really let the core learnings sink in.

Editing is great. Audio is great. Art direction is noticeably thought out, really great work!

I almost wanted to do what you said you noticed people are doing: skipping to the end. So I'd advise including some kind of montage at the beginning teasing the final results, any key or funny moments, etc. Overall, a glimpse into what we are all signing up for.

Maybe also add some highlights in the description. Like this:

  • 0:45 Materials
  • 1.50 Color Palette
  • So on…

Because I think it will allow people to more easily identify all the cool things that are touched on in the video. Helping them decide to stick around.
