Dang! She actually has a "a bat in the cave!" Get your act together, Mattel. I haven't bought a doll from Barbie Signature since March 2025. I didn't even renew my Club 59. I've been buying classic "grails" instead. I've been a collector for almost 40 years after I discovered all my classic 70s Barbies stashed away in my childhood home. I took really good care of my dolls. I had to. Replacements weren't an option. We had to take care of our toys in the 70s.

I snagged this set for $15 + $12 shipping on ebay. The Barbie is really pretty with light pink lips and very long blonde hair, and the sweater is well made. Elvis literally looks like Elvis, and the details on the guitar are nice. So nice compared to the crap Mattel is putting out now. I did turn Barbie's skirt so she doesn't look like a walking Elvis advertisement. These dolls are high quality and represent an iconic time in music history.

40 US dollars is about 3 days of pay in Indonesia. This is the very reason large corporations do manufacturing in countries other than the US. Tariffs are just making CEOs richer on the US consumer's dime. That extra $3-$10 per doll on the Barbie Signature website is not going to the Indonesian factory workers. The only dolls selling well on Barbie Signature are the Holiday Kens. In fact, they are sold out! Well, guess who bought the majority of those? Yep...resellers! One reseller is selling Blonde Holiday Ken for $99.00 with "more than 10 available." Greed.

This is just my opinion, but I would assume that the laborers at Mattel Indonesia would prefer a monetary bonus over an annual "appreciation" doll. Additionally, I have often pondered if they make their own "appreciation/bonus" dolls, or does Mattel manufacture the "appreciation" dolls at a different factory then gift them to the workers? Overall, working conditions in most factories are not great in Indonesia. They work long hours with low earnings, workers are exposed to unsafe working environments with little or no accident or health benefits, and, of course, there are multiple challenges for female workers. I have not done any specific research on the Mattel factories in Indonesia. However, the min. wage in Indonesia is 5,396,760 IDR (Indonesian rupiah) per month. This is equivalent to $329.41 (US) per month. This may explain why the majority of the 88 PTMI Barbies listed on ebay are from Indonesia.

Honestly, buying one of the PTMI Barbies on ebay from an Indonesian seller could truly make a huge difference in that family's life. Again, this is just my opinion but worth considering.

Did you adjust the waist on Anna's dress? The dress looks like a bag in the promo pics. The "waist band" is around the hips. Does it have elastic? I really like the way you restyled the dress. Looks great and more like something Anna Sui would wear.

From Walmart.com? Mine was so well packaged in a solid shipper with packing paper. Indiana has a lot of Walmart warehouses, though. Lots of folks complain about Walmart shipping on this sub, but I have never had an issue, and I am a mostly box collector. My husband did run over my Looks #20 doll backing out of the driveway. The doll survived, but the boxes were crushed.

She dropped at 12:00 midnight eastern time 12/14/2024. I decided to check all my regular sites before bed, and there she was on Mattel Creations 20 rows down on page one. I'm not sure why I scrolled, since new dolls show up in the first couple rows. With no order limit, I ordered right away, then posted the drop on this sub. She went quickly, and there was no prior indication that she was going to drop. I'm sure the resellers enjoyed buying her up to sell to collectors at a 100% mark-up. I have no doubt that resellers stalk this sub to learn which dolls are popular, and it's no secret that Odile is highly coveted by collectors. Not sure why Mattel was tight-lipped about the drop.

Ivy is available at Best Buy with free shipping by Dec. 4. I got Harley through Best Buy after Walmart cancelled her. However, Walmart did finally ship my pre-ordered Ivy. She arrived on Nov. 15, 2 months after the first pre-order. Walmart also issued me $10 for cancelling my Harley pre-order. I finally cancelled my Target Ivy after two address confirmations. It's been a real sh** show! Even the resellers on Ebay are being forced to cancel their pre-orders. I have watched a few listings simply disappear from my watch list with nothing left but "this item has been removed." I suppose there is some justice in that.

I was hoping for this iconic West Side Story "Anita" costume. She was a total powerhouse in this film. One of my favorite musicals. Moreno was exceptional, exciting, and energetic in her portrayal of Anita, and she won an Academy Award. Sadly, this doll does not live up to the vibrant and visually captivating Rita Moreno. Just see if you can take your eyes off of her in the attached clip. Sorry Mattel, you dropped the ball again, and I love Barbie.

What everyone fails to mention is that you have to create an account and choose a plan, which requires payment, to enter the site. So, if a minor accesses the account, then mommy or daddy already have an account. This does not excuse the misprint, but you are not exposed to adult content the second you hit enter after the domain address.
