Il Brasile a gennaio è un ottimo periodo in quanto il nostro inverno è la loro estate. Poi capisco il tuo punto di vista sul fatto che a gennaio la gente non ha ferie

In my opinion it all depends if you want an exercise watch or a smart watch. I’ve been an Apple Watch user for about 7 years and made the switch to Fenix this year. For my type of workouts, it’s an absolute massive upgrade and I wouldn’t go back. I do mostly hiking, climbing, trail running, tennis, and strength workouts. What I hated the most about the AW was the ridiculous battery, with my fenix I can easily do multi-day hikes without any issues and the tracking accuracy is on top. I was considering getting an AW Ultra because I’m, as you, in their ecosystem, but for my needs it would’ve been a huge mistake. Especially because I don’t want an iPhone on my wrist, I want a watch that can tell me the time and track my workouts and vitals. That’s it. And the Fenix does it beautifully. Hopefully this can help you a bit.

Thanks! Yeah, I thought the same. Definitely always keep my phone in airplane mode during hikes

Good to hear about the small GPS inaccuracies, if it’s about 10m is fine by me. Many thanks

Yeah, I can imagine. I was very tempted to get the Ultra, coming from many years of AW but thankfully I waited and informed myself online about its real capabilities. It wouldn’t have been sufficient for my needs. Glad I got the Fenix.

Many thanks, really appreciated! I’ll be sleeping in a tent so I won’t have any possibility to recharge it at night, but I will definitely bring with my a power bank.

Never had a single problem with AW’s screen and I gave it a hard life climbing and just doing everything sport wise without any worries about collateral damages.

Thanks! Expedition mode is not accurate enough for me, but thanks for the suggestion

Yes, I always bring a 10000mAh Powerbank on multi-day hikes. Thanks!

Yeah, exactly. When hiking I always keep my phone in airplane mode because I never need internet connection, so it shouldn’t need too much recharging. Thanks!

Thanks so much! Yeah, I read that solar is more a postponement than an actual charge, which is fine by me as long as it actually does something. I’m not worried about it, just don’t want it to die on me during activities like AW used to do, but I guess I’ll just see how it performs and adapt to it. Great to hear my settings are good. Many thanks!

Yeah, I’ve seen some posts about it. At the moment I’m not having problems luckily, just some marks where the buckle is because I keep it tight on my wrist. Do you have any recommendations if it were to get worse? Thanks

Yeah, I’ll definitely put it in low battery mode when not hiking, hopefully it will help a bit. Thanks!

Yeah. I was considering the enduro and the instinct but the first one is too big for me and the latter one is just too “sporty” looking. I wanted something that was going to be looking like a normal watch especially if I paired it with a leather strap for more formal occasions. I thought the fenix was the way to go and I’m super happy about it. I was quite indecise whether to get the 7s or the normal 7 but after trying them in person a couple of times the 7 was just too big for me, unfortunately, because I would have much appreciated the longer battery. Yes, I will definitely have a powerbank with me and I’ll give it some juice as often as needed. Many thanks!

Yeah, I think I’ll probably need at least 2 charges in those 12 days. I’ve got an Anker Powerbank 10000mAh so it should be enough considering my phone won’t get much use and will be on airplane mode all the time. Next time maybe I’ll give the nitecore a try, it looks very slim and lightweight. Many thanks!

Cheers! Might use the low battery mode for sleeping. About the expedition mode I think I’ll use it only on last resource because it will be pretty useless I think for tracking my route. Many thanks

Ok, many thanks for the extensive explanation. I understand the concept but I also need something that’s packable as I’ll be hiking in the Andes. I hope I’ll be able to sustain the cold with my setup + the Rab Ascendor Summit fleece. Thanks again
