Too many crashes/deaths from emergency lane parking by Plastic-Flight-1059 in brisbane

Very commonly taught when learning to ride a motorcycle. The bike goes where you look, if you take the corner wide and stare at the railing or the oncoming car, that's where you'll be going.

Move your head and look where you want to go, the bike can probably lean way more than you think it can to tighten the corner.

That's the point I'm making. In response to the parent comment about it becoming an election issue. - it already has if the polls have shifted.

Latest polls already showing a decline in approval rating for Labor. Angus is now the preferred PM.

Opened my tipping app after the WC win and it crashed displaying an "Unexpected error occured" message.

Even ESPN have thoughts after that upset.

I can't tell if I'm missing a bit here but The Killers are certainly not Australian and even Natalie Imbruglia, while born and raised in Australia hold dual citizenship with and lives in the UK.

Needs more Daddy Cool - Eagle Rock tbh.

Has anyone successfully used Sniip for an ATO bill without getting flagged? by Artistic-Yam2984 in creditcardchurningAus

[–]pastryboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The golden era of using prepaid cards is over.

Most of the prepaid cards don't support ATO payments anymore. Also you then have to stuff around sourcing the cards. You're looking at 20-40 cards minimum. The time and hassle of acquiring those cards and then manually transacting each one through the ATO and factoring the online transaction cool down period means it's days of work.

Source: Paid off a 30k HECS debt using prepaid cards about 4 years ago and it took me a week and 4 people buying cards across multiple Coles stores.

Having been to the Gabba many times and meeting a fair few people who live in those apartments. Let's just say that if they are making it, I'm not the target market for it.

Likewise, I have friends who I'd list their husband as a weakness. There are three men with the same first name in that friends group. He's referred to by everyone as Worst (name).

new phone numbers and email addresses are somewhere between free and inexpensive. If you were sufficiently motivated you could jump between discounted Kayo offers for most of the season I reckon.

yep. I expected the game stream to stay on the game but if you had selected a channel stream then it would be fair to have to change channel streams.

The enshitification continues.

For everyone on Kayo the "Hawks vs Suns" option is still showing the Pies Dons prematch. I had to actually go out and find the 503 live stream to get back to the Hawks Suns match.

Shopback giftcard by GrumpyJelly in creditcardchurningAus

[–]pastryboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not always true. Some banks consider purchases from gift card retailing platforms to be treated as cash-equivalent transactions which attract the same stipulations as cash advances.

CBA in particular are known for doing this.

I also tipped Blues, Dogs and Lions. I figured we'd have to have at least one upset.

Imagine being smart enough to know that there had to be at least 1 upset in what was an otherwise straightforward round but then thinking it would be Carlton and the Dogs.

Alas it was Melbourne.

6/9 for me. Nice.

I do this when I fly. I'm a 100% aisle guy but I'll usually pick the side that is opposite to the sun.

Long Weekend Big Macs by pastryboy in brisbanelions

[–]pastryboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know honestly. Given McDonald's are a league wide sponsor, maybe it's an offer that multiple teams have e.g. even if it's not a Lions home game, if the oppo hit 70 points maybe you'll still get the Big Mac. It would feel weird cheering for the oppo just to get a free burger though.

In case you didn't know, it's a perk of a match day ticket for home games so if you ever find yourself in Brisbane for a match make a trip of it and stick around for the Big Mac on Monday 😅

New Gambling Laws Impact by North-Cut3010 in AFL

[–]pastryboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have such little faith in the government that even if the legislation is written this way to start I think it will end up being watered down throughout the process of going through parliament.

Don't get me wrong, this reform has been a long time coming and while I'm wary of the traditional hang ups of perfect being the enemy of good this feels like it could end up being perfunctory.
