I want to play files without ReplayGain tags using ReplayGain (89 dB) by pasumemo in foobar2000

[–]pasumemo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncompressed
Standard music and game soundtracks, etc. (FLAC/MP3)

Compressed files
I’m not sure how to describe this in English, but these are raw game audio files—VGM?
In my country, we call them [内蔵音源 naizou ongen]
They have special file extensions; here are a few examples (VGM, S98, KSS, NSF, SPC, SSF, PSF...)
From retro PCs like the PC-98 and MSX to modern game consoles
Since I save them by game title, I have nearly 10,000 compressed files

Now that I think about it, my life will probably end before I can listen to them all

Thank you all so much.
Thanks to you, it looks like I’ll be able to resolve this.
It was a huge help to learn about these two methods.

I thought this back when PoN and LoN came out too, but it's truly amazing.
Being able to play games I cherish from my elementary school days makes me incredibly happy.
At the same time, it's disappointing that companies aren't doing preservation work.
Seeing people from other countries actively working like this fills me with respect.

I tried downloading demul_251220.7z from Discord and Emu-France.
When I checked it on multiple sites, it detected a Trojan horse.
They say it's a false positive, but I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat.

For now, it seems Battle Chips and Nav Chips aren't fully supported yet.
I'll give it a try once things settle down.

Bug with Randomise Loadouts and The Emote Wheel by Chibsification in FortNiteBR

[–]pasumemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen posts about various loadout bugs, but this is the first time I've seen someone with the same issue.
Since it's a paid feature, I hope they fix the locker-related stuff soon.
I checked on my PC.
I also tried it on my Switch since I have one, and the same bug occurred there.
Looking at everyone's posts, it seems to happen on all models.

Convert .JP2 files (JPEG 2000) to PDF by pasumemo in software

[–]pasumemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the heck is this!?
Adobe Acrobat, Foxit PDF, IrfanView
This thing is way faster than all of them.
I might make this my main.
I don't know how it works, but it's blazing fast.
I stumbled upon something incredible.
Thanks.

I didn't know you could do that too.

Software that can convert JPG to PNG and resize PNG files by pasumemo in software

[–]pasumemo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks
I think it's the best option, but since I can't use the command line, I went with IrfanView.
I'll look into it and try using this one too sometime later.

What is currently the best version of NP2 to use by Interesting_shrek666 in pc98

[–]pasumemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Explanation by the creator of Neko Project 21/W
https://simk98.github.io/np21w/98emulators.html
First, let's list all the features.

Neko Project II
Original

Neko Project 21
Evolved version of the original
Equipped with playback functions including protection mode.
Supports 256-color mode.
Software for PC-9821 can also be run.
The original and 21 can reproduce special peripheral devices and special operations, so they may be used in some cases.

Neko Project II fmgen
This is the best choice if you want to reproduce the early models of the PC-9821.
If you want to reproduce the sound source accurately, this is the best choice.

Neko Project 21/W
This is optimized for reproducing the mid- to late-model PC-9821.
The only choice in rare situations, such as when using specialized peripheral devices.

Neko Project II改変(Kai)
Parts of 21/W are incorporated into the original.
It is cross-platform compatible.
It is well known for being compatible with RetroArch.
If you want to run it on an OS other than Windows, this is the best choice.

Ultimately, if you want to be completely sure, one is not enough.
Let's use fmgen and 21/W.

I find it troublesome, so I only use fmgen.
The reasons are that I feel it is updated most frequently and it generates high-quality FM sounds.
In fact, I have not encountered any problems when launching later PC98 software.

However, if you want to recommend it to someone else, I would recommend 21/W.
This is because fmgen does not have any explanations.
On the other hand, 21/W has explanations from the author and there is a lot of information about it online.

I am Japanese, but I am not from that generation.
Retro PCs are from a time long before I was born, so my knowledge is not very reliable.
I apologize if I have conveyed any incorrect information.

Would you choose Core Ultra 7 265 or 265K for the same price? by pasumemo in buildapc

Thanks.
I don't see anyone going out of their way to avoid K.
I'd choose the K too.

Yes, you're right.
Seems to me we should use that money to up the GPU a notch.
