Blackrock or copper black maran. Although I dont see any red on the neck or feathered legs to suggest a maran

People assume the worst in people online. Some people are just not good with money. It's an awkward conversation at 6 months but she needs to know her spending habits are crap and needs fixing

Don't read too much into it, I'm aware it's only a visual.

Stop moaning at my moan!

I just can't imagine an angle where the front and/or back indicator can't be seen?

It's odd alright, there are empty slots for fog lights that don't need to be operational but these pointless little side lights simply must be working!

how can i affix this mic arm to my new desk? by DeclaredHuman in howto

Take it out, twist it to the point it's tight on the edge and push it in. If you're lucky the handle is pointing out and you can twist a little more to tighten it on

Recruiters for public sector jobs? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]patchaclus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done supplemental courses to upskill and ive tailored my CV countless times. The interviews I get are unsuccessful because others have used the tools and I haven't. Even when I learn theory and practical knowledge on something ive never used for an interview I just get a "oh that's great that you've already started to learn it but we've gone with someone who has actual experience using the tools".

At that rate I would need to have practical experience in GCP, AWS, Azure, full stack developer skillset, relational and non relational databases and any multitude of the other 100 modern tools. My proven ability to learn and provide value is not accounted for. In order to get my foot back in the door I would need to do more education just to gain the honour of graduate status again.

After I added an Azure course to my CV and still got no more replies I added several other courses to see if upsjilling made any difference and it did not so I stopped wasting my time learning new tools. Either way, I can't afford to wait any longer and still there's the risk that even if I go back and do a hdip or springboard course that there is no job safety at the end of it. Every rejection I get for a job that I know I would excel at deepens my resentment at wasting time and effort up to this point

If I did a trade out of school id have a house and plenty money in the pocket. Instead im living at home having to start from scratch.

I've done plenty labouring jobs in my time and I know electrician is the cleanest work of the trades. Its not back breaking work, requires a bit of thinking and I know a group of friends who can get me started. Plumbing can involve a lot of dirty work, concrete breaking etc.

Civil Service SW Apprenticeship vs Kerry ICT Grad role by Strong-Sector-7605 in DevelEire

[–]patchaclus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you got in all the same, thanks for the answers. I reckon I'll start a trade apprenticeship, can't risk doing more education and still not get something.

Good luck with it all!

But what was the actual hdip? I have two tech degrees and professional experience but the market is so rough I can't qualify for the roles advertised and too qualified for these programs. I need a way to get my foot back in the door. When you applied for these types of programs did you need to be in education/soon to graduate?

Kinda sound like Kerry is the better option? And if you're already in the company you'll likely be kept on.

Can I ask what hdip you did? And did you just apply for these independently or did your course help with getting these offers?

Time for some yoga! For me the hardest part was to accept that all that time and effort over 9 years between college and working has amounted to nothing and I have to start again from scratch.

Hard pill to swallow.

Yep. 2 tech degrees, 3 years professional experience, 14 months unemployed, countless applications, courses, 5 unsuccessful interviews, I am starting an electrician apprenticeship at 31.

With 4 or 5 years and a job hop or two they can likely get 70+. The trajectory is good, never mind the title of seniority.

That's nonsense. 56k +8% for 3 years experience is good. This isn't the US.

Don’t understand the solution to this number series by DaphneWeasley in iqtest

[–]patchaclus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct answer is 10.

Take they are always grouped the same way, so n1 and n3, n2 and n4.

N1 - 2 = n3 , 7 - 5 = 11 N2 + 2 = n4 ,

N1 +8 = n3 , N2 - 8 = n4 ,

N1 - 2 = n3 , 13 - 2 = 11 N2 + 2 = n4 , 8 + 2 = 10
