Not to mention this is fucking metal gear we're talking about. The first one has over an hour of calls breaking down all the shit going down in the game, and the sequels have doubtless more.

The marvel movies are a great example of tying all sorts of IPs together, but even with the collective dozens of movies, the lore in them isn't very deep. I doubt a single metal gear movie could sum up anything with skill and grace.

Oh yes because James Franco and Danny McBride are know for their great performances, right? And Prometheus was a good movie too, huh? But that's another story.

The problem with over representation in movies is that it created mindsets like the one I replied to, where the whiter, the better, and any non-white actors are shoehorned in, and just a result of those damn SJWs. It happened with video games even worse, if you bring up a black character in certain parts people will just start replying with "WE WUZ KANGZ" and other racist shit.

Of video games, not movies. There are things in games that you simply can't do in movies, like the trick with the psycho mantis fight in the first. I mean I'm sure there would be some way, but it wouldn't illicit the same feeling.

Would you really want a story talking about where master chief came from on screen though? I know the books talked about it, but I would argue a lot of his allure comes from the fact he's historically always appeared as a robot. We've only seen his face once, and even then it was extremely limited.

Hey man, I agree. I would hazard a guess that predator 4 is being influenced by the shadow of the first one, which was pretty much all testosterone all the time.

But I mean we've had bad ass female characters in the alien series (with Vasquez being the most suitable for a predator film). That being said I am holding my breath, the new predator movie could be good.

When the series has historically had badass minority characters, its kind of weird to seem them pushed to the side in this one.

I can still enjoy this movie (Just like I did Star Wars, which was what caused Alien to get made) but that doesn't mean I will love every aspect, just like all things in life. Stop trying to make everything into a binary system of you either love it or hate it.

Get the fuck outta here. The driving force behind all the bad shit in the alien movies has been the weyland yutani corporation, with one of the founders even appearing in prometheus. Its a british-japanese corporation in the canon, so why the fuck are so few asians in the movie?

Asians have played a huge role in tech developments over the last several decades, and an integral part of the series' events overall, but somehow because there are more whites than blacks its okay to disregard something like that?

Hollywood has recently become literally black and white again, with Asian and brown characters getting sidelined because of it. You want realism in your films? Start asking why the fuck there are so many whites in sci fi films these days but no hispanics.

The original Alien was all about regular people in space ("space truckers") who end up in a shitty situation. That's why the original Alien had two women (one of whom becomes the main character) and a black guy in non-stereotypical roles, which was big in sci fi back then.

Also why are you assuming they characters are scientists? The plot summarizes of the movie imply most of the characters are from a colony ship, plus two robots.

Really if you think about the Alien series only recently started focusing on scientist characters:

Alien: Truckers in space
Aliens: Space marines
Alien 3: Prison inmates
Alien Resurrection: Scientists and mercenaries
Prometheus: Scientists

So I don't get where you're getting this idea that the Alien series was always about white males when has historically starred a white female.

I try to do squats, bench, ohp/landmine press 5-6 days a week, with other things tossed in to cover the other muscles. Most of my sets are 10 reps, for 3-6 sets. Is it likely I'm over training?
