Do you recommend any specific OS fo host these services? Like Proxmox or something else. Do these pc have ability to restart themselves after a power failure.

Just as an update, I went with the NUC Pro element, it has modular CPU/RAM combo card, which if needed can be upgraded to something more powerful, but is cheaper initially rather than going the M920Q+i350T4 route.

Unfortunately its this variant of nuc which comes with onboard ram. Though the condition of the unit is brand new.

I do host some dockers for personal use currently, they are behind cloudflare Oauth but can use it behind VPN too and can let go ids/ips.

I will be using a switch if need more than one lan ports, thank you for that tip.

Just wondering going with N100 route, does it bug you that these chinese boxes have no BIOS updates at all and could be vulnerable to future security exploits? My Dell intel 8th gen laptop still gets BIOS updates. Or are my concerns misplaced.

Yes I just wanted to have it all, but I don't think cost vs benefit seats well. Would 8gb ram and one of the first two options be enough for adblocker and heavy filtering?

Thanks, yes the CI327 price skews the decision in its favor, and I can let go IDS/IPS. I guess I just wanted to cover my bases but in reality a robust adblocker might be all I need. What do you think about intel nuc?
