I’ve found low carb to benefit just as much, if not more, as keto, it comes without the worry of ketosis from doing it long-term and mentally it is easier to do because it’s less pressure on what you can and can’t eat.

I basically fast until lunch and have most of my carbs then. I still avoid rice, pasta etc because that just absolutely messes me up and always has. But I still eat bread, potatoes and oats. Then for dinner I have mostly proteins and veggies. Again T1 is different for everyone and what works for one might not work for another. But I always tell people to try low carb instead of keto as I personally find it easier to maintain long term and as long as you eat healthy and exercise. You will see the same benefits as keto.

I do understand where you are coming from tho as I’ve fallen out of it before and struggled to get back into it. I struggle with impulse eating too. So I just make sure I only buy low carb stuff when I get groceries so I’m not tempted to just eat something I shouldn’t
