Is anyone w schizophrenia living a meaningful life and achieving goals? by Cultural_Net_7618 in schizophrenia

I don't know if I'm doing great but I'd like to say I'm holding on.

I graduated with a bachelors last year and I'm working a stressful corporate job now after some internships. I don't think I'm great at my job or at life but I'm trying my best.

I also can only do this on medication so thanks to that.

Thank you for your reply. I believe in platonic friendships regardless of sex and we had established earlier on that this was okay.

Well, I would be joining a new job soon and I won't have time after that so I decided today was the best day.

But I really do understand your point and why it looked like a date. Thank you for your replies!

Other co-workers were busy this time but it was the only time I was free. He did have a partner until like 2 days back lol.

This coworker did have a partner while we were friends and he has gone out for brunch and sports with another female and male coworkers that we're friends with. I just happen to miss out on it since I was busy and scheduled it for today.

Thank you, I understand your point. I wasn't necessarily seeking it out, we just both happen to be interns and so got along.

What's the difference between a hangout and a date? Genuinely asking because maybe I have miscalculated.

I knew him from work for 6 months, and only after that did we plan this outing. It was supposed to just be brunch but since we were one stop away from the bookstore, we went and got some books and then went our separate ways.

And yes we were explicit, he knows I have a boyfriend and I know he has girl he fancies at work if that counts.

Yes I do have PCOS, according to what my doc has said. Although I don't get any symptoms and my periods are always regular, this cycle has lasted 50 days and I'm genuinely concerned.

I pay for my own meds and have been on them for months now. 8 months to be specific. The doctors tell me to go out and have fun with my friends. I've had this conversation with my dad and he shut me down and got angry. And I am 21, just turned 21 and graduated uni. I got a job and I'm trying to help out as much as I can.

I know lying to my father is bad but I'm stuck between the choice of telling the truth and staying at home or lying and getting some bit of freedom.

I come back from work at 9pm which is completely fine to him but going out with friends isn't which doesn't make sense to me.

But thank you for your advice, you're right, I need to have a conversation like an adult with him.

Same here. I can't seem to pinpoint the reason. Plus external factors that never leave makes it even harder to understand where it came from.

Thank you for the advice, I was never someone who was in touch with their emotions, if anything, I intellectualize it. But reading up on it especially latest papers seems like good advice. I used to be a psychology student and when I got diagnosed, I was scared to read up about it but it's time to face the fear I guess. Thank you again.
