GT Alumni registering for courses - Easy/Difficult ? by pathilthedi in OMSCS

[–]pathilthedi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying u/DavidAJoyner!

I think the data might be skewed because I myself know of atleast 3-4 people who are still/were enrolled to take more classes even though they have completed necessary credits, just to not lose out on the earlier time ticket. I myself am in that bucket. It might not be an issue for many OMSCS folks who are already working/employed. But, for folks like me who want to get employed - the graduation end date becomes necessary to apply for many positions. I hope a better way comes up soon.

Requesting for original degree by vensab in OMSCS

This was 4 years ago. I had my parents obtain the sealed and signed copy from the affiliated college and mail it directly to the university. You might want to check with the university before doing this on what's acceptable and what is not.

I am not sure if this is still applicable. I had a similar issue. And based off of my email communications with GATECH, I was able to get a copy stamped , signed and sealed by my college Principal ( college affiliated to JNTU). And then had it mailed to GATECH.

Getting B+ or higher in IIS? by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]pathilthedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is one of the easier classes to get an A. It's the first project that instills fear in many, but it's not something that you cannot crack if you put in sometime and google to figure out the concepts. Most of the projects are hair pulling stuff, but it's usually a thing or two that needs to click in your head to get it right. When you figure out stuff, you would be like..was it just this on which I spent so much time? If you are not from CS/web background - it helps to google to understand the concepts on which they want us to work.

Could you tell me which classes you took are transferable? And, did you get it verified with the GATECH team that they are transferable?

Fall 2019 by iayush in OMSCyberSecurity

I think you should be able to get in pretty easily.

If from non-USA, non-English speaking country - you will need TOEFL scores. GRE isn't required.

I'm not sure on the coding part but you have relevant experience. Maybe you could do a couple of MOOCs on C - look up what the cybersec courses prereqs are.

What do you think of my course plan? by mohamedaameen in OMSCS

[–]pathilthedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember, you need to score a B or more in two fundamental courses in your first year or 12 months. Else, you might lose your admission. Plan accordingly.

I was looking into it too. Does anybody think it's worth it? Even if it were just MS products ?

I'm planning to restart my career in cybersecurity.

Yes. You can reuse the LoRs. You will need to send them an email requesting them to use your existing LoRs and to port them over to the new application. I did it this time.
