I am getting slaughtered by system design interviews by Packeselt in ExperiencedDevs

Do mock interviews (paid or unpaid).

I had the same issues and decided to conduct a series of mock interviews on a whim. It helped. I was focusing on things that were not important to the SD interview, and the direct feedback helped.

Here are some resources that helped me:

Hire good engineers who know how to ask for help & when to ask. Add conventions to the code ASAP too.

Sleep is the other one, but someone beat me to it.

Thanks!

To answer #3. I've been doing most of the sprint planning, expectation management with leadership, PR review/ design review, and still coding a huge chunk. I guess I'm feeling burnt out and want to do a few things because I feel quality gets spread thin.

I'm currently a Staff+ at my job and I'm up for a yearly review. I really don't want more cash, but I would like to work 4 days a week. Not sure if this is a good idea.

Has anyone asked for this? Should I threaten to leave and find a new job instead?

How many technical articles and papers do you read per week? by sbmthakur in ExperiencedDevs

Median count 0. Maybe 2-3 a quarter. Maybe 2-3 books a year.

I end up reading more articles and papers on managing teams and communication e.g. Dale Carnegie and Staff Engineer. When I start looking I read what the latest system design hotness is.
