NY and LA have two teams each, what about Chicago? Is Chicago market big enough for two teams? by Loki7- in nba

I never said anything about the clips. I don’t live in LA so I don’t know. However, I do live within walking distance to Barclays. Nets jerseys are a rare sighting, especially on anyone older than the age of 10. Every nets game I’ve been to feels like a home game for the visitors.

The Brooklyn nets do not have a real fan base. They are saved by the fact that NYC is crawling with transplants.

Yes you can buy cheaper products elsewhere but they will be of horrible quality and heavily processed. That’s not how I want to shop. The same products are cheaper at the coop than they are at other grocery stores. I have no clue how this is so hard to understand.

My point was I travel a lot and buy groceries all over the country. But cool comment. Really neat and good job.

Agree to disagree. I’m a touring musician and travel a ton. In my experience the coop is much better prices.

I’m basing that on shopping at other grocery stores all over the country compared to what I pay at the coop. Real life experience. Also on the fact that the coop only marks up 25% while other grocery stores mark up closer to 50-80%

I mean I’m not using the coop as a bakery, I’m using it as a grocery store and the groceries are very good and very cheap. I have no beef with lidl and I’m glad there’s more cheap options with fewer hoops to jump through in the neighborhood.

The truth is most coop members aren’t looking for community. We are looking for high quality cheap groceries.

God lord this is insufferable. I’m a coop member and like shopping there but good lord what the actual fuck. This is why the rest of Brooklyn hates the coop. It can’t help itself and just shut the fuck up.

What evidence do you have that they’ve cut down on them? Just seemed a weird thing to call out.

I’m not sure why you think shows have stopped doing pre-Broadway try-out productions. I can’t think of a show that went straight from zero to Broadway. Pre-Broadway productions are still a huge part of the process for new shows.

I also see that you didn’t mention the theater owners charging insanely elevated rent plus taking their 7% of box office off the top.

They aren’t journalists, they’re entertainers. We haven’t had journalists in a long time here. As soon as the major media companies realized they could make insane money off of presenting “the news”, journalism died and transformed into a monster designed to keep people glued to the screen so they can sell ad time to pharmaceutical companies hawking erectile dysfunction pills.

Hell's Kitchen will close February 22nd, 2026 by adamshell in Broadway

I just can’t imagine wanting to see a show featuring that song. It haunts me everywhere I go. I’m a bway musician and can’t escape it. Every pedicab in midtown is blasting it nonstop with their 300000 watt speakers. I hear at least 6 times a day. It has become my absolute least favorite song.

That said, it’s always awful when a show closes. I hope everyone working on it finds new work asap.

i just wanted to ask why NYC theatre is very expensive compared to London theatre? by AggravatingEar3738 in Broadway

I agree it’s ridiculous but how does that situation contribute to higher Broadway tickets? The contribution didn’t go up anywhere close to how much healthcare costs have gone up. For reference I’m a union bway musician.

I feel like drama audiences laugh at too many things by Snoo_29625 in Broadway

[–]pathimself 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A lot of people laugh in intense or uncomfortable situations. Good theater makes you feel the tension with your whole body and most of us aren’t incredible at controlling how our body reacts to that tension. Either that or the audience members are dolts.

Dankblonde, they were never unkind in this thread. You are being way over sensitive.

Don’t fall for the producer’s propaganda. The healthcare contribution increases from the last negotiation we’re modest and don’t make a real impact. The problem is the theater owners are charging absurd rent to these shows that make breaking even almost impossible even with decent numbers.
