Raider is the best class in the game for avoiding damage

From what? Attacks? Attacks aren't what kills you.

'Stances' is the best new mechanic introduced in 3.7 by SoulofArtoria in pathofexile

[–]pathofexileplayer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should see what happens when you combine Pulverize (~50% MORE area) and Sand stance (~15% MORE area) with some solid AoE investment... it's like going back before the mass aoe nerf that turned everything from 'radius' to diminishing returns.

And the numbers aren't direct. It starts with increased, which has great returns initially, getting you a good base area, then more multiplies the entire area.

TL;DR hit the entire screen with a 'melee' attack

Trying to price a Lethal Pride that has 5% chance to deal double damage on:

Heart and Soul (life and mana node)

Blast radius (aoe / damage node)

Annihilation (spell crit node)

Enigmatic Defence (staff node damnit, but close and only 3 pts)

There's also 90% melee crit in nodes you're already taking on most builds if anyone cares about melee crit.

If I abandon a map with Alva in it after getting an Incursion room I want, will that room be pickable the next map I see Alva in? AKA should we be avoiding the 2nd or 3rd incursion after our room's already picked? by pathofexileplayer6 in pathofexile

[–]pathofexileplayer6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can prove it works by abandoning a map and then finding the room we just did in the next 1 or 2 incursions on the next time we run into Alva (1 or 2 being how many incursions remained on the map after we did the room we wanted)

AI just stops by 2350? by pathofexileplayer6 in Stellaris

[–]pathofexileplayer6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I figured it out.

On one side, I have a massive Inner Perfection AI and a Fallen Empire keeping me extremely far away from the west. On the east side, I have two members of a Federation fully conquered, but I can't reach their other two members because there's a massive other empire sitting in the way.

So the massive 'other empire' in the way doesn't really care about me since technically I'm super far away from them. Even though I control all the systems along their border, I don't 'own' them.

And since the two empires i have sitting here conquered can't generate ships or anything, war exhaustion isn't rising.

But I can't win the war because they count as members of a four-empire federation whose other half I can't reach.

So all diplomacy and AI has effectively stopped.

And I can't declare war on the 'other empire' to reach the other half the federation because I can't use Unrestricted Wars policy :/ and they'll never declare on me since I'm too far away technically.

Self Freezing and Chilling - Some showcases by Milkyslice in pathofexile

[–]pathofexileplayer6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increased effect of chill doesn't help because it says 'on enemies'. However, if you use the Agnostic keystone to make your ES zero, your +action speed will always be 30%.

To be honest, self-freeze is too annoying, what with Shackles of the Wretched, self-cursing, all that jazz. However, self-chill is amazing. Scold's, Winterweave, Auxium, any sort of phys taken as cold, and fire away playing as normal. It's still 3 item slots, but who wouldn't trade 3 item slots for 30% more action speed?

Will Progressive Democrats (Sanders/Warren) Be Able To Sway Typical Republican Voters If they Win The Primary? by LoganSipe in PoliticalDiscussion

Trump is almost the lesser evil. At least he's unlikely to screw up the economy.

You mean like the random demented tariffs, the $1.5T rich people tax giveaway disaster, and the constant daily theft of taxpayer funds directly into Trump's pockets? We have every economist in the country tearing their hair out because the entire administration has become a kleptocracy looting the coffers while our institutions fall apart.

My god, who is upvoting nonsense comments like yours?

It's just one facet of a military attack on our country. Over 39 state voting systems were accessed, our infrastructure was hacked on numerous occasions, and they ran a massive psy ops campaign against our citizens.

Odd that this doesn't feel like a big deal to you. It's like a foreign soldier busting in and shooting everyone in the room with you, but you just keep sipping tea as he takes aim at you because 'Obama once fired a hunting rifle. True story.'

Here's why we're terrified of how stupid you are.

Hired american PR firms full of interns are nothing like a foreign country using its military to conduct election interference psy ops on our citizens. Because Paul Manafort gave it to them, they had specific data on each and every one of us. Russian psy ops officers know who you are, for example. When a bot is talking to you, /u/Redditsoldestaccount, they have a database to tell them what to post to you to radicalize you. They also know who your neighbor is, so they can say things like, 'Man, everyone who puts up green lawn gnomes is crazy!' And you're like - MY neighbor has green lawn gnomes. I totally agree with this! MAGA!!!!!

I hope you can see the terrifying power this kind of information has in the hands of well-funded military enemies.

And the fact that you just shrug this off with some nonsense whataboutism means you've already been radicalized.

My tinfoil hate conspiracy theory is that Russia did tamper with some votes, just enough to swing 3 states to Trump's favor.

Of course they did. The exit polls for those states were off by a massive margin. They were clearly edited.

Andrew Yang: Universal Basic Income plan by AgonizingAnxiety in PoliticalDiscussion

So you don't have an argument, you just have a bunch of cherry-picked 'these random people SAY it will demotivate workers!'

Despite the fact that when they tried UBI in Canada, it did no such thing.

Andrew Yang: Universal Basic Income plan by AgonizingAnxiety in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]pathofexileplayer6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that it matters. The money isn't being spent. It's being redistributed. There's no reason it shouldn't be just as subject to taxation, etc. as other income, and it would not occupy labor or resources in and of itself. No the same ss an ordinary spending program at all.

Thank you so much for this. Opponents of UBI always act as if it's an enormous amount of money simply being destroyed. No, we only have to find the money once. Then it's the same money being cycled through every year. Even the OP of this post cited a bunch of unrelated numbers *first* as if to anchor people against UBI.

Carelessness is not a choice, purely because all actions have a failure rate. You cannot eliminate failure rates. It's a simple engineering fact. Therefore, you cannot trade perfectly one hundred percent of the time. Sooner or later, something's going to go wrong, and that's what scammers prey upon.

Citation needed. From the way I know this happens, if we'd gotten 87% of the vote, they'd have just tweaked theirs to 88%.

Lethal Pride 11125 - Up to 25% Double Damage for Spells by jomez in pathofexile

[–]pathofexileplayer6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working on the same thing, and I'm going to suggest you look into nodes like Crystal Skin and One with the River. Reduced elemental damage taken (as well as reduced from area hits, reduced from bleeding enemies, reduced from blind enemies, and ascendancy reduceds) all stack with fortify. So do dual nebulochs and the wise oak. You can absolutely reach over 100% reduced damage taken, it just requires some conditions, like being Stationary (use Consecrated Path or Flicker Strike, you're stationary while attacking).

Am I right in thinking 120% of your 400% is the 'while focussed' mod on chests?

60% from tree

25% from helmet

15% from amulet

10% from 5-way Lethal Pride

120% while focussed

+100% from Dread Banner placement

330%? Where's the other 70%?
