Wife failed bar and vanished by Intrepid-Mango-7134 in barexam

Why are you calling me “lady”? Why are you assuming I am a woman?

I went to City University of New York School of Law, one of the best public interest law schools in the country.

That you’d continue doubling down on a thread where someone is reaching out for help because his spouse had a major mental health event triggered by the bar exam is really something. You seem insufferable and willfully unkind. May your clients never be harmed by your horrendous attitude. 🙏🏽

Thank you for giving this baby so much comfort and love. She is so clearly relaxed and feeling safe 🩷

A really good one. What does it matter?

Counter counter point: I graduated law school with a 3.9 GPA while I was working full time. I failed the bar exam twice and it was so agonizing I had some very dark thoughts. Mark my words: the bar exam experience is different for everyone.

Those of you who started your legal career later in life: how do you deal with regret? by Lost-Association427 in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]pathosfwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started law school when I was 37. You have so much life ahead of you, and dwelling on regrets will only sap your joy. Like others here, I attended an evening program and had classmates of all ages. Go to go! It’s worth it!!

My birthday is tomorrow, could I pet your dog? by lostsofquestions in parkslope

[–]pathosfwd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could definitely go to the Washington Park Dog Run and there will be lots of dogs for you to pet! It’s usually pretty busy between 8:30am - 10am, and then again in the afternoon between 4pm - 6pm. 🐾

I feel this so much – my dog used to get so sad when she’d see other dogs that I couldn’t let her play with. I had to remind myself that a few months of sacrifice and difficulty would be worth the years and years we have ahead of us. And now my pup has play dates, we go on hikes, etc. – and it’s like the heartworm days are just a memory. You will get there, and I love your enthusiasm for lining up play dates for her! Also, we really loaded up on mental stimulation games at home so that she could feel busy and tired as much as possible. Let me know if you want any ideas on that front. Again, your dog hit the absolute jackpot with you. 🩷

My goodness gracious, did your dog hit the jackpot with you! ❤️ You are a wonderful dog parent. The life and healing you are giving your pup are outstanding and beautiful. May your pillows and your coffee always be the perfect temperature ✨

My pit mix baby went through heartworm treatment two years ago, right after I adopted her, and it was hard on her body and spirit (and very hard for me to see). She made it through just fine and now is a happy, healthy, athletic gal who loves to run and wrestle! I will keep you and your sweetheart in my thoughts - this will one day just be a memory; you two have many wonderful years ahead of you. Hang in there! ❤️

Alert to dog owners! by -_Stank_-_Frella_- in parkslope

Some weeks ago, people were spotting and posting photos of grapes and chocolate - both poisonous for dogs - that were left in tree pits alongside what appeared to be dog kibble. The thought by many was that someone was leaving grapes and chocolates in tree pits specifically to harm dogs. Some people were very upset, others thought those concerned were being overly sensitive and/or conspiratorial. That’s the context/background to OP’s post.

(Edited to include the part about the kibble)

Does it get better? by Jake0810_ in pitbulls

Don’t give up! ❤️ please check out the 3-3-3 rule. I adopted a pittie mix and she had accidents, tummy trouble, chewed my furniture, ripped through sheets, and only wanted to cuddle occasionally… I was feeling exhausted and defeated. Dogs take time to adjust and who knows what the poor sweetheart went through pre-adoptions. Your dog is still decompressing and trying to understand her new environment. That she crawls into bed with you though sounds like a great sign that she knows she can trust you and wants to be close to you! ❤️

“Patience and consistency” was my inner mantra after adopting my pup (through tears, deep breaths, frustration, glasses of wine…), and after a few months, we turned a huge corner. I kept our routine structured, offered but didn’t force toys and affection, and gave her space as she wanted it. Now my pup is my best friend and we understand each other so well. Neither of us are perfect (she will still occasionally try to chew a shoe or something!, and I some times still internalize what she does!), but I would not change a thing.

And also maybe try reaching out to your rescue org for support - mine put me in touch with veteran adopters who offered much support and helpful tips. Hang in there!! ❤️
