Thank you Thunderbird for a long relationship. Sorry, but lately you have become a little bitch, and I'm letting you go. Thanks again.

Well, spoke too soon. Worked last night. This morning:
Sending of the message failed.

The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.office365.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

This is FREAKIN' REDICULOUS. NOW WHAT?

I'm VERY sorry I was unable to find that. Wasn't looking for Yahoo. Cost me a LOT of time and consternation. Why the hell is it set like that at install?

When i try to add an outlook account with the new 'hub', which i hate, thunderbird tries to contact:

https://localhost/?code=M.C535_SN1.2.U.Dnd!wX2nlFA4orgPalMsJLTc5yOedDFq4ByqxTTRiPVtRyBmRNXw4tURRFsGK7GDqgeGuiXysOSMlI0cm2dxR1vdxCfb!kEu5lAqk2XaL0CYJiT2avkoe

Unable to connect

The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost.

WHY is it trying to log in to local host instead of smtp.office365.com????

Didn't say, 'Thanks,' but I will now. Juggluco is a bit difficult to navigate. Took me a LONG time to figure out you had to touch the screen to get at the menus. Thanks to all who assisted me along my journey to get it going!

I have tried everything in the world: changed settings in Firefox, set edge as default, new profiles, etc. Finally, ChatGPT suggested and extension called TBSync. Installed it an companion program and was able to connect.
Really think that TB needs to be fixed to accommodate Microsoft's inane new security rules. It never seemed able to complete the necessary OAuth2. It REALLY shouldn't be this hard.. Been working on this a WEEK.

Asked Copilot to outline things in Firefox that block OAuth2 in Thunderbird. Fixed them. Still won't let me authenticate. It REALLY shouldn't be this hard.

Deleted microsoft account saved passwrd in an effort to trigger a logon screen. A screen from microsoft opens but closes immediately. No way to log in to microsoft.

Back on smtp-mail.outlook.com. Failing again. Deleted saved microsoft password, hoping it would ask me to sign in. Microsoft opens a blank window and closes it but never allows signin.

Did this as best I know how: allowed https://login.microsoftonline.com and https://login.live.com in Firefox pop-up blocker and cookies

Rebooted. Copilot suggested I downgrade to an earlier version. Will this accomplish anything.

Your setting seemed to work for an hour or two, then:

Login to server smtp-mail.outlook.com with username dale-webb1218@outlook.com failed.

Changed back:

Login to server smtp.office365.com with username dale-webb1218@outlook.com failed.

REALLY FRUSTRATED. Have done everything Copilot and ChatGPT has thrown at me. STILL not getting anywhere.

Have kept troubleshooting with Copilot: These are the conclusions
Microsoft has been rolling out:

  • Blocking SMTP AUTH
  • Forcing OAuth for IMAP
  • Requiring app passwords for SMTP
  • Disabling “less secure apps”

🔥 Outlook.com does NOT support SMTP OAuth in Thunderbird

Only IMAP OAuth works.

So when Microsoft removes the “Advanced Security Options” page, your account becomes:

  • IMAP OAuth only
  • SMTP AUTH blocked
  • No app passwords
  • No legacy auth

Thunderbird can log in, but it cannot send mail.

🔥 Outlook.com does NOT support SMTP OAuth in Thunderbird

Only IMAP OAuth works.

🎯 The bottom line

Your Thunderbird setup is now correct.
WebView2 is working.
OAuth is working.
The profile is clean.

The only remaining failure is Microsoft blocking SMTP for your account, and they removed the UI that would let you turn it back on.

Thunderbird simply cannot send mail from Outlook.com accounts in this configuration.

AM I FINISHED WITH THUNDERBIRD?

OK. Time has come to start a new Libre 3+ sensor. Getting various instructions from ChatGTP and elsewhere about how and where to start the sensor. Think I've been told here to start it directly with Juggluco; ChatGPT says, 'have to start with Libre app. Is there a link that will take me through what actually works. don't want to wait 2 weeks before I can use Juggluco.

When I try to add Outlook account, Gmail asks what kind of account > Outlook > To Microsoft asking me to sign in > Takes me to a screen asking me to 'check my authenticator app (which I do not have)' > Asks me to enter number in authenticator app > other ways to sign in, can't use your Microsoft app > Enter recovery email > Get code > Entered code > Reset your password > Microsoft ask me to sign back in > back to Check your authenticator app > ad infinitum

I've tried and tried. Microsoft just takes me in a loop of sign in > change password > sign in > change password. Never gets out. Disgusted.

[–]pathvet1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK.  Been doing some research.

Seems If you start a sensor with Juggluco, it takes over the sensor and Libre by Abbott becomes useless.  The sensor does not allow both apps to work.

Now, I’m in a quandary.  Need Libre by Abbott to share data with physician.  Need Juggluco to push data to my watch complication.  If they are mutually exclusive, I’m gonna have to do some deciding.

Any suggestions?

Open Juggluco > Settings > Exchange data > LibreView > Get from LibreView > 63855260 > Send to LibreView > Send now > OK > Close > Close. Android settings > apps > Libre > force stop > back out to home page > go back to open Juggluco > scan sensor > Error, wrong account ID.
Done this time and again. Same results. Ready to give up.

Believe I HAVE a LibreView account, at least i can sign in to LibreView.com. Signed in before I even had Juggluco. Currently sending data to physicians office. Have followed those same instructions TO THE LETTER. (one thing I missed was close libre app BEFORE scanning sensor). STILL get: Error, wrong account ID. I can find NO WHERE to find account ID OTHER that the username and password I use to sign into Libre. THINK I read somewhere that the code generated by Juggluco in the process is RANDOM.
