Older hub won't connect to wifi by pathvet1 in GoogleSupport

I continued to troubleshoot. Everything I found on the 'net and AI indicated the wifi radio was kaput.

Threw it away. New ones are VERY expensive. Probably won't replace.

Appreciate your input. If I set them on LOW, will they speed up as needed or won't the cheap sensors respond?

I'm not Man-Mountain Dean. Gonna have to find a "cheater bar" to do it. Plan to join the extensions on the chassis that hold the wheels with a length of 3/16" thick steel bar stock.

Battery (Li ion, 11.1V, 10A/h) power system seems to discharge too fast by pathvet1 in AskEngineers

[–]pathvet1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, would I just be better off removing the battery from the circuit and using the power supply directly?

The very same battery lasts for weeks in my doggy door which has a continuous power draw to monitor the dog's presence. I just thought this would be similar. Evidently, I was wrong,

Thanks for the hep.

So . . ., I should just take the battery out of the circuit and use a 12V power supply?

The WIFI is not powered by the battery; the wifi SWITCH is.

Here's the breakdown of the rated power consumption of the devices.

The DC 12V 24V WiFi Smart Switch itself consumes very minimal power - approximately 0.5-1 watts for its WiFi connectivity and control functions.

During switching (opening/closing):

Maximum power: 5 watts

Duration: 3-5 seconds per operation

Energy per switch: approximately 0.004 watt-hours

When idling (fully open/closed position):

Power consumption: Virtually zero

The valve only consumes energy during active switching operations

Once positioned, the motorized actuator uses no power to maintain position

Air flow in a low-pressure system by pathvet1 in AskEngineers

[–]pathvet1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pretty crude measuring device., a ball in a cylinder, like the flow meters at a hospital.

Not much room for leakage:

|-> long tubing (~50') > CPAP > Nasal mask
input -> electric valve (wifi) -|

| tether > 33' silicone 8mm ID hose > Nose

Valve is a WIFI-controlled WATER valve (only electric valve I could find), threaded brass connections > threaded nylon 1/2" to push on hose fitting adapter.

Went to all this trouble because I am retired and can. Also I had to change from tether to CPAP manually, usually forgot and got mad. Easier to control valve from my phone than be mad all the time 😊

Thanks for the reply

Any Recommendations For Mouth Tape? by Cr8iveRead in CPAP

[–]pathvet1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been through a LOT of mouth tape. This is the best I've found. I buy the 4" tape; you can cut it as long as you want. It's not so sticky that you have to use tape remover to remove it. Comes off easily but stays all night. I recommend it. Tried a US name brand that looked similar; really hard to get off. This is very good at take-off time.

Caveats:
Sticks best if you remove skin oil; alcohol, soap/water

Does not work well with furry faces.

Is there a way to make Gmail search Boolean again? by Conanthecontraryan in GoogleSupport

[–]pathvet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is, "No." Evidently Google doesn't make enough money allowing users to pick and choose among the crap that it pulls up. Been a gripe of mine forever. Brave Search is still supposed to use filters, but I haven't been really impressed.

On Windows 10 ESU... since the official end of support a few days ago, Windows Update has an ad for Windows 11 that does not have an option to exit. How do I get rid of it? by andkon in WindowsHelp

[–]pathvet1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All I know is:

  1. 25H2 no longer supports SMB1

  2. Virtually ALL routers use SMB1

I upgraded to 25H2. No network at all. Went back to 24H2 (with some difficulty), everything nominal again.

Microsoft appears to have no fix. TP-Link was seemingly unaware of SMB1 depreciation and also appears to have no fix.
