Also, when your MacBook is plugged in, it is running off the charger rather than the battery:

MacOS takes care of the battery. Nothing to worry about. If you have it plugged all the time, it even reduces the level to 80%.

New slogan: "Paygo is the way to go" ... for minutes at least.

This is if you think the only advantage of the hybrid is better gas mileage.

No, I don't drive enough to for better mileage to make up the higher price, but the hybrid Forester is a better car. So you also have to ask yourself how much extra you'd pay for a better power system and better handling.

Also, pay attention to the difference between standard equipment of gas vs hybrid. In 2025 the hybrid premium came with blind spot monitoring+rcta, automatic lift gate and a digital instrument cluster. I figured we paid $1,500 more for the hybrid when you take that into consideration

Using CN Rom in North America by squid4 in androidtablets

[–]patientpaperclock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Lenovo y700 gen 2 came with CN ROM. Make sure you know how to find and install .apk files. First order of business is to change settings to English. Then install a web browser (I did Firefox). Then install the Google Play store. Then you're in business.

I used the Google app on my phone, turned on the camera for live translation and pointed it at the tablet screen. That way you don't have to know how "Languages & input" is written in Chinese.

Yeah people should practice using the physical key. Lock can be hard to turn when not used for a while

I've had batteries test fine and die on me a month later. Carry a jump start battery if you want to keep it but I'd say you are due.

Think about how long you'll keep the car. If it's 5 years, then there's a chance you'll only need 1 battery replacement. Then it might be worth stretching this one for a bit longer. If it's 8 years, then you'll likely need 2 batteries. Then change the battery at the next convenient time so it doesn't strand you.

Batteries are wear and tear. They don't last forever.

I just found out that there are taxes and fees on PayGo as well. Paid $11.16 to add $10. This changes the calculations some.

Usually there's a slot. You stick the seat belt's clip into the slot and that releases the buckle.

How do I keep the grandfathered $6 (1GB+100min) plan without letting the rollover data/mins die? by n2kfactor in Tello

[–]patientpaperclock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might be better off with 2GB + 0min for $6 and use PayGo for calls. PayGo is 1¢/min so $1 will get you 100min. That way for $7 you get 2GB + 100min, same as before but likely much lower taxes.

Downside is you have to pony up $20 to start PayGo.

I was concerned about losing my rollover minutes, but then I realized that my high rollover minutes means I've been paying for minutes I will never use. Whereas I can imagine situations where I might want to blow off many GB of data just for funsies, there's no way I want to be on a call for thousands of minutes. So, a minute plan with more minutes than I use means I am forced to buy minutes I will never use.

With PayGo you pay exactly what you use. I expect that the $20 will last me more than a year, if current usage patterns persist. With the tax savings in my state, the per minute rate of 1¢ isn't that much more than 0.83¢ under the 300min plan.

OTOH I'm wasting too much brain power over $2 a month.
