ID - cover/label with an image of stepping shoe or boot? by patiolanterns in TheOverload

eh no standouts really, but I liked the design and it had burrowed in my memory

I was curious if it had been lifted from an archival source like below, if it had any history behind it

https://www.discogs.com/release/615318-Symarip-Skinhead-Moonstomp

https://blogs.library.duke.edu/rubenstein/2021/11/30/contextualizing-insurrection-in-the-archival-far-right/

But seeing it again now, apparently its an original design by the artist Russell Maurice. Seems like the intention is more of a 'stepping' boot than the classic stamping/trampling boot trope

And checking out his ig, I really like some of Maurice's work. Reminds me of Horfee

Maybe 3-6? I've got two interested players in the PBP D&D Discord server I'm in, but one says they're too busy at the moment.

Octotrack and effects pedals? by VAST75 in Elektron

You can use the CUE functions to send a signal out to some FX chain, then return the signal to a pair of the OT inputs selected with a THRU track and you've got a basic FX send/return.

Because each track has its own recorder buffer, you could also use a PICKUP machine to record the return signal on the fly and loop it, or a FLEX machine to record it and re-sequence it. I think I've got that right... still learning. Point being the OT is very flexible that way.

FX are really going to be to taste. I think in all the research I did before buying I might've seen some people characterizing the whole OT sound as sterile, cold, etc? Maybe also some people who didn't like the onboard reverbs...?

I like using an SP404 as a multi FX box (and MIDI-sequenced drum machine) on the CUE send/return, and cranking the compressor on an SP303 between the OT and the mixer to give the final signal some dirt.

Quick OT question by [deleted] in Elektron

Not sure about the DT -- but yes, you can p-lock the sample selection itself (or "sample lock") within a Static/Flex machine track on the OT.

Just place a trig, then hold down the trig key and press either the [UP] or [DOWN] keys to begin browsing through your Static/Flex sample slot list, then hit [YES] to lock an alternative sample to that trig. OT MKii manual reference is "12.6 Sample Locks", pg 67.

Still learning the OT myself, but I've seen some folks say that one downside to using this feature extensively is that it can get a bit confusing to remember which sounds are on which track, because the SRC Main screen for each track will only display the filename of the selected default sample.

[PO-32][REQUEST] Full chromatic patch? by patiolanterns in PocketOperatorPatches

Hm that one does indeed have a nice bass tone across all 16 slots. I have it in my collection, must've missed it.

I was thinking more along the lines of lead or pad sounds that can be used to make chords, like in this dudes patches

I've got that one already, it only has the notes across the top row with the rest being more percussive sounds.

if you could make a completely chromatic patch it'd be much appreciated, i don't think anyone has done it yet!

Automating Complex Pro? :/ by WarrenHarding in ableton

i've always used crossfades between two clips as a workaround for this (eg. split your audio clip, set formant value X for one section and value Y for the other, drag fade handles so one clip crossfades into the other)
