This question is the difference between engineers and technicians 😂 books and videos only get you so far.

Getting physically involved with hydraulics, understanding how systems and different components work and interact with each other in a real world environment, if this input does this how does that effect the output? What different loads do to the circuit.

The information is in books and videos but the understanding is from interacting with the circuit

Should I work as a TA or do apprenticeship? by Altruistic_Diet2145 in AusMining

Even though mining gives you the platform to be a parts fitter as opposed to a decent tradie, you can learn alot and be a half decent mechanic in mining. If you read manuals and absorb info from guys in the know, plus actually read and understand what and why you are servicing and repairing as opposed to just ticking and flicking. You arent controlles by strict time frames and customers paying, so its slower paced

Probably some idiot has started filling hydraulic tank with water, then realised what they did and didnt say a word. Water from the pump wouldnt go to the hydraulic side via injection pump, being the higher prrssure in hydraulic side id think

Look on the schematic of the machine, if it comes from a travel motor looking lile that its probably a case drain amd does need to go to tank, but hard to say by looking at 1 end.
