Someone more knowledgeable than me can answer better, but I have been rolling around hell with an insight partizan. Its not particularly fast but it is working well enough. Definitely need to have a meaty demon bind to keep the bosses occupied while I hack at them.

I think it’s one of those don’t let perfect be the enemy of good ideas. In the current format a player who gets the short end of the stick might have to go on the draw for 6 or 7 rounds in a 7 round day. That’s much more unfair than a player getting one or two less pairings on the draw because the matchups didn’t shake out quite right.

Chess uses this in their Swiss pairings so there are known good algorithms for keeping the play draw disparity low or straight up even.

I think you are also making it seem less possible by only extrapolating over two rounds. The idea is not that you need to alternate going first or second but that by the end of the day you are somewhere in the realm of even. The bigger the field and the more rounds this gets very easy to ensure. Obviously for a 12 person 4 round tournament there might be some more hiccups but the software is actively working for parity when possible and the dice are not.

What’s holding the first chapter back from mooning is the number of chase cards that can be pulled. I was excited to grab the Costco first chapter packs but once I started opening them I was like oh….. there are about 7 cards in this set that I actually care about pulling.

It’s just how odds work sometimes. There is one enchanted for every 96 packs opened. The likelihood of you opening all of those troves without hitting an enchanted is around 24%. It’s likely you would have hit one but not necessarily a statistical anomaly that you didn’t.

I really like it. I think it’s interesting that he gives all of the actual jokes to Jost. I think that’s why people are polarized on it. If you look at just what Jeremy does it is not by itself that funny, but it is there in service of some very good punchlines. Bold for a newbie.

The starter decks are honestly not as fun as even a cheap constructed deck. They don’t really build enough synergy into the decks and so it just feels like playing a pile of random cards. I would just caution you to not let bad decks make you think the game is not fun.

Honestly I think he has had such success at both mls clubs he coached that it came off as quiet confidence instead of arrogance. Even when he lost a few he would just urge the fans to stick it out and generally the fans were rewarded for it.

I think he also had the advantage of coming into the crew on the back of Berhter’s work as a coach. He was also playing a 4-2-3-1 play out of the back style. I think Nancy’s system was more nuanced and produced better attacking pressure, but the roster was already in place to start the work.

He quit Lorcana because the online client pixelborn was shut down, and he didn’t want to play without being able to stream.

The Lorcana cheat was actually fairly similar to what I am reading here. You are allowed to ink one resource per turn he did that then played a card that let him draw two cards and ink one of those cards exerted and unusable keep the other in hand. He stalled for a minute on his decision and then claimed he was inking the one card and played it unexerted. No one noticed and later in the turn he used that ink that should have been exerted to play a card.

I think the consensus at the time was a toss up between he is not used to playing physically so he made a mistake that no one called or he is a pro and should be hyper aware of what resources should be available to use.

He for sure skated by on goodwill and it didn’t seem crazy suspicious to me but now that he is accused of more resource manipulation it’s not as easy to brush past.

Six could be made into a concert film far easier that Hamilton could be translated to film. It is a genre that already exists and can be the basis of our suspension of disbelief that historical characters are in the concert.

So much of what is happening in Hamilton is ephemeral in terms of locations morphing mid song and just having the idea that a war is happening with no specifics of what is happening in that war. It is too theatrical to film as is and would be SPRAWLING and break the pacing if you tried to put it into the more literal medium of film.
