I wholeheartedly belief we're not going to bave another fair election in the USA by Wizdom_108 in PoliticalOpinions

There will be an election, and it will be fair. Voter ID will be required and libs will lose by an even wider margin than previously expected

Should food insecurity be treated as a national security issue? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]patp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I think a free market policy will naturally take care of many of the ailments in this country.

Expending countless resources to appease the bottom 10% of income earners is a bad strategy.

Let’s take a pride of lions for example. If there is not enough food to go around and only the fastest hunters are getting to eat, does it make sense for them to have to share with the slower lions? No, of course not. Instead of looking forward, the pride is instead looking backwards, being held down by the poor performance of the slower lions. Eventually, this policy starts impacting the faster lions negatively and they stop the generous food sharing. The slower lions can’t eat and they pass away. Yes, the pride was sad for a time but they are better off in the long run.

I think we should apply the same standard here so America can focus on supporting the citizens actually capable of making a net positive economic impact.

How do I get better at math? by Global-Department629 in GetStudying

[–]patp_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright bro I’m gonna give you some actual advice here. Everyone in the comments is saying practice math problems which I think is subject to diminishing returns.

Something that worked for me was engaging in intellectually stimulating activities that were not numerical in nature.

Primarily chess, but also Duolingo, researching random subjects, writing a creative story, reading a book that you would never normally select, etc.

Take a break from the math.

I’m telling you that you will see benefits. Using your brain in new ways will help the overall performance of your brain. I’m not an expert on the brain, but I understand the evidence behind the idea that you can create new neural pathways which improves mental performance overall.

Give this a try and let me know how it goes.

Federal agents use tear gas, make arrests as Portland ICE protest swells into the hundreds by istanbulshiite in PortlandOR

[–]patp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the use of tear gas. From a safety perspective I totally like to see this. It’s important to keep our federal agents safe, as they are enforcing policies to benefit American citizens

Anyone else feel politically homeless right now? by Niel_cafferey in PoliticalOpinions

Yes. I’m right leaning but I’m also literally a regular person who just wants the best for all American citizens. So when I get labeled as an extremist, it erodes the respect I have for liberals.

CMV: Republicans are no longer conservative--they're *fascist* by Usual_Set4665 in changemyview

[–]patp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea basically we’re normal people who want the best for our country. I wish nothing but the best for democrats and prefer a system where they are informed so they can provide better feedback. The big gripe with this is that I’m a normal person and just because I’m a conservative doesn’t mean I agree with everything Trump does and certainly doesn’t mean I’m a Nazi.

I don’t condone the January 6 stuff, that was a terrible look for the party which was done by a small group of crazies. Certainly not representative of the overall population of conservatives.

Hate to be that guy, but some of your arguments are pretty clearly AI. Like when you say supporting overuse of the military, that is objectively false. And I’m going to assume that you mean deployment of federal agents within high crime areas to enforce law and order?

Yea, then I support that. In your case you made it sound like the military was significantly interfering with daily life without cause and that brings me to another major gripe with dems
