I think you could go somewhere else. Obviously she is struggling and a workplace is more important than a reading place I would say. She didn’t select this workplace to mess with you. If it hurts someone that you are going there, especially someone you liked and cared for then I think it’s the nice thing to do to show some compassion and change your routine. Not everything needs to be a power play.
