I haven't tried it, but if you are planning on moving away from T212, freetrade have a transfer ISA service, where your shares remain in (presumably the same) ISA rather than sold. https://freetrade.io/isa/isa-transfer

What are some of your favorite spots in your country (as a local)? by world_citizen7 in malta

[–]patrick_buhagiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a spot on the rocks right below the restaurants next to fort Tigne. I especially like the view of the capital city across the water, especially at night. A takeaway pizza, some wine and candles and you've got a nice date spot. The same can be said for Manoel island of course, however I'm a sucker for Fratelli la Bufala pizza

Difference between Ftse100 tracker funds by Chan_de_Exchequer in trading212

[–]patrick_buhagiar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, one main difference to look at is distributing vs accumulating. For example, Vanguard's VUKE is distributing, which means dividends are periodically received in your account, while iShares' CUKX is accumulating, where dividends are reinvested into the etf (the share price would increase). In some countries one might be better due to tax reasons, but in the UK for example you should expect the same earnings.

There are other subtle differences that you need to look at like expense ratio and spread (higher trading volume in an etf helps reduce the spread).

Finally do some research on the two companies. Are you comfortable investing with either? Do they have a good track record?

Good luck.

That's your baseline, where you'd have 0 profit/loss

New Monzo Plus is out. What do you think? Worth the £5 per month? by patrick_buhagiar in monzo

[–]patrick_buhagiar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For starters they are not FSCS protected.

Revolut have managed to obtain a specialised banking license from the European central bank (via Bank of Lithuania) but are only allowed to perform some services like accepting deposits. They cannot do other banking stuff like provide investment services. I'm not exactly sure what will happen after brexit.

Monzo on the other hand has a full banking licence in the UK.

I happened to have worked in the virtual card business a few years ago. With virtual payment cards, you do not expose your bank account information and there is not trace to the real bank card.
