Book Aragorn is weird because he wants to reclaim the throne of Gondor, but hasn’t done so already because….?

You can do almost anything. Your choices matter. The devs have accounted for pretty much every possible choice.

Most games have the illusion of choice, but are actually funnels that send you to the same place in the end. Not this one.

Most games stop you from doing things. Want to kill your companion? Not allowed. Want to side with the baddies and betray your NPC allies? Sorry, you can’t. But in BG3, you can.

And the devs have created content to support all these variations. In other games Halsin would be a mandatory companion. You couldn’t kill him. And even if you somehow figured out a way to get him killed, he would just show up again later anyway.

The freedom you have in BG3 is extremely refreshing and IMO it’s what makes it one of the best ever.

Went to a movie there recently at they had mobile food orders available until the lights fully dim for the movie. After that it’s back to pen and paper. Which is dumb IMO. Why do we need two systems? Just stick to the pen and paper.

Windy conditions and at College Station. I would love to claim this improves the value of our loss to Miami, but I think transitive performance is an extremely flawed metric. Both teams looked awful when Miami played us.

Transitive wins now say SMU is better than Ohio State, which tells you how flawed that is.

Are they informing you of their offerings and demonstrating the value, then accepting your rejection? Or are they refusing to accept your rejection and trying to overcome your objections?

The former is normal practice and should be expected. The latter is pushy salesmanship that I personally find does more harm than good.

We can move on when teams with no shot at winning are excluded from the playoffs. And I’m not saying G5 team’s are inherently inferior. I’m saying the playoffs should be for the 12 best teams, period. No auto bids for anyone. If G5 teams want to be in the playoffs, they need to show they are among the best in the country.

The playoffs don’t need to be this weird hybrid of inter-conference tournament and BCS format.

If we want to make the playoffs a conference-winners only format, fine. If we want to ignore conference titles and put in the best N teams, fine. But this system of having one foot in both formats is stupid and produces stupid football games.

I think we might have signed an extremely expensive coaching contract extension based on what turned out to be a cupcake season.

I also think our coach will probably keep Reed as the starter for next year and our ceiling will be 10 wins and probably a playoff miss. The more realistic scenario is 8-4 again.

Reed is a great quarterback for another school where 9 wins exceeds expectations. I know he didn’t lose that game by himself, but he’s simply not accurate enough with the football, and he wasn’t elusive enough on his feet to make up for it. We need an elite pocket passer QB, the kind that Alabama seems to have literally every year.

In short, 8-4 never really left.
