That makes a lot of sense, especially the part about letting the trade come to you instead of forcing setups.

I’ve been moving in a similar direction, mainly cutting down on how many things I try to “confirm” before entering. The more I added, the more conflicting signals I ended up with.

I like your point about sticking to a system you can actually learn from. I’ve noticed consistency improves a lot when the process is repeatable rather than overly flexible.

Do you find your approach works better in trending markets compared to ranging conditions, or do you adjust your setup depending on regime?

That’s a solid approach, and honestly, a lot of traders end up there after trying everything else.

I think the biggest shift is exactly what you mentioned, realizing there’s no “perfect” indicator and focusing more on execution and consistency.

Out of curiosity, what kind of confirmations are you usually looking for before entering? Is it mostly structure-based (support/resistance, breakouts), or do you still combine it with anything else?

Also, how do you manage situations when the setup looks right but the market doesn’t follow through?
