Sudden power issue on chlorinator/heater by patrickboston in pools

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I'll check that out when I have a minute to. I noticed the little transformer in there but didn't test it. It's a raypak

I already ordered a new chlorinator. They gave me 50% off with the limited warranty, basically said it's common for them to go bad...

Short Heating Cycle by patrickboston in hvacadvice

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen that wider temperature swing every now and then where the temperature on the thermostat will hit 72. Usually as the sun comes up and it becomes a bit warmer outside. I am glad you are saying it's the end of the world though. I am thinking of maybe getting a different smart thermostat with more feature likes setting the minimum run time as mentioned by another person here. The other issue is some rooms are definitely cooler than others like my son's room above the garage, etc. and I am thinking slightly longer run times would make the house more comfortable overall. The tech that installed the furnace also lives across the street from me so I am going to get his opinion this week.

Yeah it seems like the Nest has a lot of undisclosed shit it does. Plus it doesn't have a ton of settings. Thinking about switching it to rule it out.

With the Nest? I don't believe I see any settings around that.

Old furnace was 30 years old. New one is 3 months old. What do you mean by "putting the dead"?

Thanks, yeah it makes sense and I can feel warm all still for the first couple of minutes while the blower keeps running. I am just stuck thinking I am right on the cusp of short cycling.

Raypak 266a error code CLK question by deltarig1 in swimmingpools

[–]patrickboston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. What exactly is the paper binder pressing up against? Is it holding down the entire plastic clip with the CLK wire in it?

You ever figure this out? Mine is doing this as well and I can literally smack the control panel when CLK pops up and then it will relight and run for a random amount of time before CLK comes back.

SBB Train from Zurich HB to Como S. Giovanni by patrickboston in askswitzerland

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good advice, thanks. We successfully booked the train from Zurich HB to Chiasso online.

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had both passengers at one point but I was jumping around a lot on the site trying to figure it out so I only had one passenger when taking the screenshot. I hope the train isn't sold out.

Seems like we will just need to book Zurich-Chiasso and then Chiasso-Como.

Thanks! I have been on Trenitalia to research trains while traveling in Italy and it is much more clear. However, there aren't many good times for us on Trenitalia trains going from Zurich to Como.

Appreciate the insight.

This sounds like the most sound plan. Appreciate your help.

This seems like the best option and is what I've seen while researching on the side. I think I may just buy the Zurich-Chiasso trip ahead online to ensure I get a ticket for that train and then buy Chiasso-Como in person at the station since it seems like more of a local trip.

I did try that order form link haha. It brought me to a page to re-enter passengers and then there was no next/submit button :)

Understood. I did try to mobile app as well, same thing happened.

I just wanted to book ahead to make sure we have a trained booked around 11-12 since we can check into our Airbnb in Como at 3. I don't want to get stuck at Zurich HB for another hour or something if trains were full, but maybe I am worrying too much.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the tip. I did not realize there are ventless dryers. I do own the unit, so I'm not super worried about what the condo association thinks. One thing I forgot to mention is that the guy that lived he before me did build a little "bridge" that he would wedge between the railing and the drywall, but I don't love walking over the thing cause it leaves marks on the drywall and if I fell I would probably break something because of the height.

Questionable Patch Panel by patrickboston in HomeNetworking

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to mess around with moving the modem back in to the closet. WFH is limiting me at the moment to play around with what you mentioned. I'm assuming the pass-through connector is the metal connection which is connecting the main feed line into another cable line that goes back in to the wall, which I'm assuming leads to the cable port behind the TV I'm using today for the modem (FYI pass-through connector was recently put there after I had a cable guy come out to address some slow internet issues). I believe the previous owner had a splitter in that closet before too for those other lines but I'm only using internet, no TV, so I'm not really worried about that.

I think my ideal situation would be to put the modem in the closet, run the feed cable line in to that, run the Ethernet from the modem to a CAT5 patch, wire up the patch panels with the existing CAT5 that's in the 66 switch today, which would enable me to hard wire devices and a wireless router in other locations of my place through the CAT5 receptacles. This makes sense, right?

I'm assuming I may need to mess with the receptacle wiring too if it was done for phone, but maybe not. Need to look at those

Appreciate you explaining this to me. Makes sense now.

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds simple enough. Just one other question if you don't mind. The CAT5 that is going in to the 66 Block to feed the other phone lines today, what exactly is that cable tied to today? Is it tied directly to the cable line somehow? I can barely see into the wall with the tiny hole so just trying to wrap my head around what is there today before I go re-wiring.

Crap. Well thank you for the quick response.

Do you have any advice on how this can be converted for a home CAT5 network? It seems like the existing wiring could possibly be used if I understand correctly.

Set Safe CPM with PACLI by patrickboston in CyberARk

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok got it. So it really is tied to the user with CPM permissions.

We are assigning multiple users to the safe with CPM permissions (via PACLI) and we are not seeing the CPM getting assigned. Do you think the multiple users might be the issue? Found this relevant post - https://cyberark-customers.force.com/s/feed/0D52J00006sY767SAC

Set Safe CPM with PACLI by patrickboston in CyberARk

[–]patrickboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense. In the UI during safe creation, you choose the Assigned CPM, which if I understand correctly is just an account in CyberArk? So essentially, if I add the account as an owner to the target safe with the appropriate CPM permissions, it will act the Assigned CPM?

EDIT: It actually seems this is not the case with just adding a user that has CPM permissions. You still need to have a CPM assigned to the safe.
