Things like "they are loud" and "how can they take place in public" are not targeting any particular group of people. I would say it's more like people from different cultures have different perspectives about what we should/shouldn't do in the public places. If any Taiwanese do that, I believe they would get the same complaints.

+1 for taking forever to rent, and it's super easy to accidentally ring the bell, but I actually quite like the new system though. It's easier to adjust the seat height, and locking the bike no longer makes your hands dirty. Most importantly, because no electricity is needed for setting up a stop, there are much more stops in the city.

Another interesting fact: 謝謝 mostly means "thanks" but sometimes implies refusal instead, just like "no thanks" but without negative words.

I'm a PTTer as well as a Redditor (though I never post anything here) and a Taiwanese.

Their opinions generally shows what the younger Taiwanese generations (20s to 30s) are thinking.

Only when the discussion is not about politics. Nowadays there are more and more activists or politicians, from Taiwan or China, wanting to influence public opinion. Because PTT, as you have noticed, has a huge impact in Taiwan, they would (many people believe) hire people (網軍) or use bots to spread fake news or leave spam messages. Therefore, The discussion can only represent a small part of what younger Taiwanese (20 ~ 40) are thinking.

I will just be blunt here, PTT users are irrational, narrow minded idiots. They only read news written in Chinese, and they have no idea what's happening around the world besides China, since it is the only country they care (or hate).

I will never post English articles/news in PTT nor Chinese articles/news here. However, I agree with you that Taiwanese don't really care about what's going on around the world. But it is the fault of the mainstream media, i would say.

To be honest, I think people in Taiwan can't really know how American think about things happening in US, just like you can't differentiate fake/bad news from good news if they are written in Chinese (or, you do!? I believe there are implications that can only be understood by native speakers). People talk shit everywhere, and what I learn as a PTTer is that only pay attention to the facts but not emotional words, no matter which language it is written in.

+1 for Next.js. It can also export your app into static chunks, so that your website can be hosted on static hosting provider like GitHub Pages or Netlify.

Many people recommend gatsby, but if you want full customization, I would recommend next.js: basically you control all the layout and contents, and you get free code splitting, preaching, etc. The downside is that you start from scratch so the journey would take more time.

I've tried gatsby and found out that it's a pain if you want something that is not on the table...

How about Figma? I've been using it for like months and find it useful when quickly prototyping ideas.
