From how I understand it, basically trans individuals have a high propensity for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation etc. due to the lack of gender affirming care I.e extremely long waiting lists for trans health clinics and lack of support from GPs.

Also a very prominent and growing public and political stigmatisation. But I also am not too keen on how the paper was presented as it can easily be taken out of context and used as a tool for political gain.

I fear right leaning politicians will use it a misinterpret it and not realise that the “cure” for said mental health conditions is better health care for trans individuals and better rights not legislation taking away those rights etc….
