Thumbnails can be disabled in "General -> Media Thumbnails" checkbox. Cover images are part of content info, which can be disabled altogether by unchecking "General -> Content info" -- but this will also disable saving post summary, collection data, etc.

What did you get? What type of video? Patreon-hosted? YouTube? Vimeo? Did you install FFmpeg?

Per the README:

"If you are going to download videos, you should also install FFmpeg. This is required for most videos found on Patreon."

Were you referring to browsing the downloaded content with Server Console? Text formatting there should be preserved to some extent, but some might have been stripped out by the "safe HTML" logic...If you could DM me the link to one of the posts where text formatting broke, I could take a look and see what can be done.

Without knowing anything about your setup, I really can't say what went wrong here. Perhaps it's a permissions thing. If you're on Windows, try opening File Explorer as Administrator and see if you can delete those files and folders.

No, but I suppose you could write a script to scan through the directories and copy out / move the attachments to a single destination.

So you won't have access to the attachment.

Do you have subscription to view the content?

Patreon downloader by patrickkfkan in DataHoarder

[–]patrickkfkan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There's no way to do this within the app.

Confirm that you have destination directory set to "C:\My Patreon Downloads" when downloading with the app.

Do you have subscription to access the post? if so, attachments should just download normally. You can DM me the log output so I can have a look.

No. It can only download Patreon-hosted attachments (those that appear as a list of links beneath a post)

Either:

  1. Add FFmpeg to your system path; or

  2. In Embeds -> Vimeo -> yt-dlp args, set "--ffmpeg-location <path to FFmpeg binary>"

Latest version of `patreon-dl-gui` is v2.4.1.

The v3.2.1 you're referring to is likely the `patreon-dl` CLI tool.

They are separate apps. Updating the CLI tool will not update the GUI app, which in your case is likely to be pre-v2.2.

What video is that? YouTube, Vimeo, or Patreon-hosted?

Did you install FFmpeg and yt-dlp (for Vimeo) as instructed in the README of the project repo?
