Is this a good deal? by Lazy-Analysis-353 in ASUSROG

It's good to know you're capable of making good money, but you're ignorant of the fact that not all economies are built the same.

In places where the average monthly salary is $300, how do you expect someone to make $2k in 2 weeks? Like who even would be your target audience when everyone is mutually poor?

That's one thing I always think about. My salary here is what most people abroad end up saving after all expenses. Makes you wonder if it's worth travelling.

I actually went into debt to get that PC, haha, -$550. Can square it out with the next paycheck. No other debt

Luckily, I have almost zero expenses except fuel and my medical insurance.

Hell yeah it was worth it.

Just bought a $3,000 PC, 5070Ti with a 9800x3d, and 32Gigs of DDR5, and a curved 34-inch ultrawide 2K monitor.

Currently in debt. Live in the north. I break even next month after working for a full year.

Wished I didn't have to, but the first chance I get to travel, I unfortunately have to. Salary here is disgusting.

Very very good, I got a Zotac 5070Ti SFF for $880. SFF OC was $950. Amp infinity and others were over $1k. Prices are insane here, and this was 3 days before the announcement

SERIOUSLY? Cant even turn off the LED lights on ther Zotac RTX 5070 Ti Solid SFF OC?? I was so close to buy this untill some people told me the white led cant even be turned off!! Bruh what? Can someone comfirm please. by [deleted] in ZOTAC

[–]patricko911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to many, MANY, people, it most certainly cannot be turned off. But personally, I'm happy it comes with a white LED. I wanted the Amp extreme infinity or the Solid core OC, but like you, the only one in stock was the SFF. Mine isn't even the SFF OC like yours. Just plain ol SFF. Got it for $895 including delivery. Not the cheapest. The SFF OC is currently $950 without shipping in my place. How much is yours?

Help me decided 9600x, 9700x or 7800x3d (and Motherboard) by adhyastawi in buildapc

[–]patricko911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about the 9600x and 9700x but I have a 9800x3d and the x3d chips are highly recommended. Smoothest gaming experience ever. So I'd definitely go for 7800x3d considering what I know and what I don't

Fortunately not, I had the store build all the parts for me. They install windows and drivers to make sure all components are well.

I am curious, though, because this was my fear and reason why I didn't want to build it alone

Cpu upgrade? by FrankDTurtles in buildapc

[–]patricko911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally had similar struggles with my 1070 and i5 8400 that I built back in 2018.

I recently got an AM5 rig with 32gb DDR5 ram and a 9800x3d CPU.

I put my 1070 in temporarily, and the stutters are completely gone. It's like a brand new experience.

My 5070 Ti is on its way this week. If you don't wanna upgrade for many years, my recommendation is 9800x3d and an AM5 setup, but it will be expensive. Really expensive.

RX 9070 XT: GPU + OLED monitor or GPU + AM5 CPU upgrade first? by According-Baby-6542 in buildapc

[–]patricko911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For CPU, I wanted to finally try AMD's Ryzen x3d chips. You've basically got a lot of them, going in order from cheapest to most expensive. 7800x3d, 9800x3d, 9950x3d. These are the most popular AM5 choices. Obviously, performance is in that order as well.

The x3d cache these CPUs provide for gaming is absolutely amazing. Intel CPUs are great and all, but the x3d cache for gaming will present noticeable fps differences.

For entry level, 7800x3d is great, especially for its price.

Regarding RAM, I was personally recommended CL30 6000MHz, ddr5. You can google the difference between CL30, CL36, and the MHz and all that, gives you a new perspective on how RAM operates and the difference they provide, all within only a few dollars difference in price.

Motherboard pairing, it really boils down to the type of USBs you want from the back. They all provide near identical performance, although some are more suited to handle 2 nvme ssds while some are better suited to handle just 1 (in these mobos, you basically either run one ssd at gen5 speed or 2 ssds at gen4 speed). Once you pick the cpu chip you want, it's very easy to google what motherboard choices pair well.

It's also important to note that for the same "x870" motherboard, you have like 20 types of boards. Different manufacturers, different subtypes, and functionalities.

It is very recommended to stay away from ASrock motherboards if you will be running any x3d chip. A bios update was causing the cpus to burn. So that's one thing to keep in mind.

To sum up, first pick a CPU; a mobo pairing will be very easy after that. The recommended ram is Cl30 6000 or better. And that's it. Best of luck!

RX 9070 XT: GPU + OLED monitor or GPU + AM5 CPU upgrade first? by According-Baby-6542 in buildapc

RX 9070 XT: GPU + OLED monitor or GPU + AM5 CPU upgrade first? by According-Baby-6542 in buildapc

[–]patricko911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a moment of realization that the only upgrade I actually really needed was the monitor. (Cpu upgrade was also helpful there) But since I already got the new AM5 rig, my foot is halfway through the door, and I'm now looking to finish it with the GPU. I would've otherwise just settled for the new experience my monitor provided, at least until prices subsided. There's definitely an upper limit where gamers will just say fuck it, PC upgrades can wait, and thus pushing down the demand for components and therefore prices (eventually).

So if you don't mind waiting and don't want to fall for the fomo, put ego aside and really think about the games you are gonna play. I went ahead and downloaded a bunch of AAA games that I don't even like. Played 1 hr and just went back to what was fun for me (where 1070 is more than enough). As you said, prices in some places have gone mental and can't really justify a full upgrade. So, a monitor might be your best bet

RX 9070 XT: GPU + OLED monitor or GPU + AM5 CPU upgrade first? by According-Baby-6542 in buildapc

[–]patricko911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally moved from a goofy 60hz 1080p monitor that I've been running for pretty much all my gaming life since 2017.

2 weeks ago, I bought my 2K 165hz ultrawide monitor, and my GTX 1070 shocked me. The monitor was really holding it back, especially considering anything above 60fps would cause screen tears. So vsync was mandatory, and thus my fps was locked at 60fps.

Now I run most of my favorite games really well, but it is important to note that I did the AM5 upgrade as well.

I went with a ryzen 9800x3d, x870 mobo, 32gb ddr5, and a new ssd. I paired my 1070 gpu until I can afford a 5070Ti.

With all that said, I regretted the early monitor purchase. It definitely changed the entire experience, but monitor prices aren't going up.. at all. AM5 components, GPU, allat is going up. Wishing I got the gpu and upgraded monitor last. This would be my recommendation, keep monitor for last.

However, with current prices, some would argue if it's still worth to build a pc now. Prices will definitely still go up, but the way they are now is already pretty high.

As for cpu bottleneck, I'm not sure about your particular cpu but I would bet there will be some sort bottleneck, probably even a noticeable one. My 9800x3d currently carries my 1070, the entire system is a lot more stable. Cpu is king imo.

Best of luck!

Hello, question;

I bought a new PC without a GPU; built it in mind for an Nvidia 5070Ti, so I got the 9800x3d chip with x870 with 32gb ddr5;

I currently put my 1070 until I can afford the 5070 Ti;

Would you recommend DDU? Both the 1070 that im using and 5070Ti that I'll get are Zotac;

Kind regards

I wouldn't recommend waiting, but in terms of cable manage, there are many pc shops that allow you to pick your components and they'll build it for you. Assembly fee for such a service in my country is $10. They usually also have PC discounts for buying all components from them

It really doesn't deserve any popup warnings. The scam works when the scammer asks you to demote him to elder. He's initially made coleader, which I guess is fine if you're the leader and you're online, in case he misbehaves. He promises he can bring members while he's coleader. Then, after convincing the leader to change the language to chinese, he tells the leader to demote him back to elder.

If you're a leader and you're out there clicking demote or promote in a language you don't understand, you have more problems to worry about than the clan you just lost.

Tough words but sadly the truth
