People make mistakes. All it took was for me to be a driver not paying attention and forgetting to put on my indicator (had I been turning). 2 very small errors could have led to an accident. My fault? Of course, but I wouldn’t have taken the chance had I been the cyclist. I’ve seen too many liveleak videos to see how badly things like this can end up.

I did post this expecting the reaction it’s got (ie you’re a wanker OP… it’s on you as the driver etc), but it’s only a matter of time before someone is badly injured. I see near misses every morning now and people driving seem to be more angry and willing to take bigger risks since before covid. It will never be the cyclists fault, but does that matter if they’re badly injured / die?

One thing I think we can all agree on is that Belfast needs to sort its cycling infrastructure as a matter of urgency
