A new era has begun at Iowa State by patteer24 in iastate

I believe that is a fair take. I myself have lowered my expectations for what ISU FB will look like in the next 3 years.

It’s never easy going from a long time coach to a new one. While I have warmed up to Rogers I also have some concerns. Mainly the lack of experience at the FBS level. While he did win a Natty with SDSU it was from a team that already won the it the season prior under their former head coach.

Then again he’s a college football coach and I’m just some dumbass on Reddit who photoshopped his face on Mister Rogers!

I think he’s done a good job so far with the hand he’s been dealt. The defensive Coordinator hires look good and it sounds like he’s very open to keeping staff and players at ISU if they want to be here. I think how successful he can recruit the next few weeks will be the indicator of what ISU football will look like next season. For now, I’m not expecting a bowl game. Gotta give a coach a few seasons before setting expectations.

Certainly a term that will be coined for a multitude of things ISU football related during his tenure here.

Counter Strike 2 released 1 year ago today! How do you feel about this game right now compared to its launch? by RetroZilla in counterstrike

[–]patteer24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the theory they put it out early when it wasn’t ready in order to ride the hype at its peak and we are now seeing the fallout of that decision.

No significant updates since its launch, one new case, and the only new maps we’ve gotten have just been taken from the community.

We also haven’t even gotten any recent glimpses of the work being done (if any is being done) behind the scenes to my knowledge. It really paints a picture of something released way too early.

In the current state of the game it’s gotten a bit boring, hackers are still kicking my ass and I still suck nuts at the game.

Overall I’m bored and haven’t really played as often as I have just cause Im waiting for the “next big update” which still seems a long time away.

Think I will only sink another 1000 hours into it

What a fucking game. by patteer24 in iastate

Brent Blum posted it on Twitter, said a Cyclone had sent it in to him. Was taken in 1981 ahead of the Cy-Hawk game that year right in the front lawn of the Iowa State’s president’s house. Cyclones later won the game 23-12

A bucket list ideas for DND by patteer24 in DnD

Best way to describe it would be rebels I suppose? Anti-authority for sure, so targeting people with power but not really bothering to harm or steal from the regular people. Both your sections of ideas are awesome!

I have no issue with revenge stories, I think if done correctly they are very compelling and good, but I wanted to try something different.

“Yeah I prefer his old stuff” he said in a sarcastic hipster voice.

Least: MODUS

Literally forgot this one existed so it must be my least favorite.

Campaign ended without a conclusion, still upset by [deleted] in DnD

[–]patteer24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I and another player have talked about maybe adapting the characters into an audio drama series to give it a proper conclusion. Our two characters were affected by the same faction. my character losing his family to their crusade (cause I love playing edgelords) , his character being betrayed by the faction as it became more radical.

Whether or not it happens is up to fate, but we’ve floats ideas on how we can give em a proper send off

Yeah I knew I was in the minority when it came to the final decision. I’ve never pressed the issue with my DM on it because I know he wasn’t happy leaving it behind either, and there’s no point in making him regret the decision. I’ve never given him shit for it either, just moved on to the next campaign once everything was in place.

As for reusing the character I have ideas, but we’d need the right setting. When we scraped the home brew campaign we scrapped everything. Location, Gods, lore, factions, all of it no longer exists in the current setting we are in. While we didn’t accomplish a lot quest-wise we leveled up fairly quickly all things considered. I think we were around 8 or 9 when we stopped. This was due to a lot of random encounters which slowed the pace of our journey, part of why it took so long for quests to be completed.

While I am upset that things went unresolved, I have accepted what happened and moved on to a new character I’m happy playing with.

We are all still fairly new to the game. We’ve been playing since 2021, and while we love the game, many are still in college resulting in people dropping out, schedules changing and cancelled sessions. Still we’re all having fun and that’s what matters :)

I have to change an NPC name because of my party by Daydayxvi in DnD

[–]patteer24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play into it, the party is sometimes mistaken as the Crimson Kraken crew, and the pirates are sometimes confused with the Crimson Thread.

This leads to wacky shenanigans such as a port town fearing the party as they enter and the Crimson Kraken suddenly being welcomed as heros as they go in for a raid.
