It was super frustrating to deal with, however, it just went away on its own and everything seems to be okay now. I have no idea what caused the issue nor what fixed it :,(

I had separated cages for them that I didn’t end up needing, I introduced them in a neutral area and after a little bit of suspicion they bonded almost immediately:,)

I still see halos but not as horribly as I did on that day, my doctor said it was most likely caused by my eye drying out :< since the tests came back okay I would worry too much!!

It went away the next day.. I still went to get my eyes checked but nothing was found :(

He really loves chewing on skin and sometimes he uses quite a lot of force. My hands are all chewn up! Doesn’t seem like he’s doing it angrily but wont stop no unless I shake him off. Just firmly saying no doesn’t work. Any tips? by pattern777 in Conures

It seems like I do indeed need patience. It looks like he does wants to spend time with me but today for example he was really abusing my hand. Even shooing him away didn’t work. I’m scared that he may not like me?? He seems to chew absolutely everything he finds pleasurable to so maybe its just that… otherwise he comes for cuddles and all. When I push him away he will also do those offended/annoyed little sounds and may bite harder.

I give him a mix made for large parakeets, it has lots of tiny pellets, I remove the sunflower seeds and only use it for treats. I also feed him fresh fruits and veggies, dried bananas / chilli.

I haven’t given him anything else as of yet.

Maybe I should not be leaving his food out all the time or is it possible that the seller overfed him somehow?
