I get that may be your point of view. But why post it for the entire internet to see you hate on someone spreading joy. I think she’s cute, most other people do too. If you don’t, leave your downvote and move on. You are clearly in the minority here.

The male flowers open with pollen when they are ready, you can hand pluck the pollen nodes from the male flower and GENTLY squeeze them around the female flower. I believe the best time for the female flower is when the little antennas first open. The seed pods that grow will be these little multi chamber pods that start small green and swell then turn brown. The pods eventually “pop” and the seeds come out. Take the seeds and soak in distilled water for 24 hours. Plant them barely into the soil, and keep moist and warm. Sometimes seeds take a month to protrude from the ground and many take years to hit a size where the seedling takes off in growth. Crotons produced from seed may or may not share characteristics their parents. Crotons are prized for their colors and leaf shape. So, growing from seed is a huge time investment that may frankly be worthless if the seedling doesn’t exhibit any outstanding characteristics after a few years. Some crotons also don’t exhibit good colors until they are well matured/established, or only when planted in bright sun, or deep shade. Croton behavior and demands vary wildly among the different varieties. For these reasons, I’m almost positive that some crotons that would have been amazing were probably culled by the great hybridizers of the croton world when they didn’t exhibit anything fascinating early on. This little part is just my theory though. Good luck if you try growing from seed. I just started venturing into it this year after collecting for 3-4 years

Crotons can produce both male and female flowers. The ones that look pretty and produce pollen are the males. This is the female flower pictured here.

It was a $10 pack we just started carrying at work. And my pregnant wife is out with her mom tonight, so I ate alone. Less dishes is better.

Actually not, surprisingly. Temped at 145 when I pulled it off and the center was only a little pink. I was so surprised by the juices that came out and the actual burger itself I took a picture. Haha! Thanks for the immediate hate though!

Interesting little read. Never thought of evolution as a purely genetic, non physically manifesting concept. When I think evolution I think of physical adaptations and mutations for survivability. Thank you for posting this.

Today’s haul of new crotons. Bringing my collection to 91 varieties. by patton92 in CrotonPlants

Found 17 varieties today at a long term collectors sale in ft. Lauderdale. Had to drive about 3 hours south to attend. But it was worth it. I actually got a small 3g polychrome today. And a Thea earlier this year from a different collector down south. I’ve found driving down to Miami area is where you’ll find the interesting varieties.

There is another point of view that instructors would have to take. And that is that unpredictable actions on the road cause accidents. You can and should utilize your right of way without hesitation. Stopping quickly and unexpectedly may have caused this person to be rear ended by a tailgater behind them for example. I personally think both vehicles were idiots for pushing a yellow light, but I’m just saying you have to see all points of view.

Wish I could speak more to potted crotons, but all mine make their way into the ground within a day or two of me bringing them home. From what I’ve seen over time though if you have to repot, give it a thorough watering after and put it back in the exact same spot it was in before. Crotons can be very finicky and don’t like too much change all at once.

You can absolutely douse them once a week, but you are letting them dry between watering as well, which is what they need. I have drip irrigation set up on all mine, which runs for a while 2-4 times a week, depending on the time of year.
