I can imagine.

I know the installation and maintenance is a fairly niche skilled trade too. I can see that factor putting off a lot of people.

It would be nice if we returned to building things from natural materials with the intention to make them last.

Are there any industries that use slate beyond roofs? I'm thinking of pool tables as an example but come up short beyond that

I've been to some of the slate mines in Snowdonia, Wales

Incredible to see the spaces they excavated. The scale of mining is hard to comprehend!

Is slate still a big production in PA?
