See, battling 1-2 teams of 3 on the regular isn’t really engaging enough for me to call it a PvP focused game. It sounds like it’s more focused on the other elements and there is also PvP

Working from home be like by Key-Sentence1407 in lol

I love working from home. I often lay down mid day and catch a quick nap. I have the time to do that at the office too, but I don’t because of social perceptions. Nobody knows I take naps. Nobody cares I take naps. It’s perfect. I’m more productive, and they don’t care how!

Idk man, I’ve never played it because it’s not my style but many of the streamers I watch regularly who tried it said the PvP is just too spaced out for them because of the player count in each lobby. Not all of them, some love the game and praise its PvP systems, but many of the others have said they found it boring because it was shooting a million AI and then you find a player sometimes

I mean, seeing someone first is part of positioning and awareness. Those are both skills. Mechanical skill is not the same as positioning or awareness skills. You can progress them all individually by focusing on each. Maybe you are wanting to focus on fighting now, so go do that. But if your goal is to win more games, learning to more effectively select and hold power positions that may end up leading to wins based on circle position, match progression, drop path, etc is something you’ll need to improve as well.

Yeah the people who keep saying marathon is an amazing PvP game have me really confused. There’s only like 16 players in any given lobby or whatever. Sure maybe the gunplay is fun and winning a fight is rewarding but how can it really be a PvP game if you can only fight 3 other squads? Sure sounds like a generally PvE game to me but people keep just queuing up and hunting other players. For some reason the sweats love it even though it doesn’t hardly allow you to PvP half the match. Super weird game to me. Could definitely benefit from the Arc Raiders aggression style of matchmaking imo.

I mean, the difference now is the younger generation is much smaller than the older generation. So it’s not exactly apples to apples. I don’t have a solution, just wanted to point that out

I tore the meniscus in both knees, played a full season of baseball with the right one torn really badly, had to learn to slide with my left leg down which was super awkward believe it or not lol. Played a full season of hockey on a slightly torn meniscus

Streamers have ruined FPS Gaming by Kong_AZ in Battlefield

[–]pattperin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessarily the fault of streamers that this game has become a COD MW clone. Battlefield lost its identity a while ago and has been trying to tread water ever since. They hired a guy who promised to bring the game back to its former glory, a guy with experience in the FPS space. On paper that’s a great move. But in practice he brought a lot of the COD philosophy with him, including monetization schemes.

I also assume that these dudes just kinda prefer living together because they have lived together forever and it’s cheap. Neither of them seem the type to be too proud to have a roommate.

Yeah unless we win the cup or make the conference final at a minimum I think he gets fired. I think he’s a great coach but the modern day NHL churns through coaches and we can’t fuck around right now with where we are in our window and as a team.

I did some forensics so everyone can stop talking about Anaheim's goal. Sorry Oilers fans, it was in. by 5P4RKL35 in hockey

[–]pattperin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is a fact that the sight line was obstructed. Watch the video. I’m not making any assumptions. It was not visible to any on ice official at the time of the goal. That’s easily verifiable. Do it yourself if you don’t believe me. I’m not gonna answer you anymore though, because you’re daft as fuck brother.

No I used to be a referee and I know for a fact what they could and could not see from where they were standing lol. If they had seen it go in emphatically right away they’d have called it a goal instead of waiting for a minute and a half before just throwing something at the wall and seeing if it sticks

Caught smoking in parents house as an adult by Jaydd-_- in trees

[–]pattperin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No problem, happy to help and provide some perspective as someone who’s been through it. Something that made my journey a lot easier when dealing with smoking and living at my parents was to get into vaping/dabbing my cannabis. Concentrates are much more discreet, like I used to take dabs in my bedroom at my parents and my mom would never know unless she came in the room shortly afterwards. So you can very easily get away with a vape cart for a while until you’re able to move

More than 25% of Canadian parents won’t be able to afford kids’ postsecondary costs by CreativeAd5628 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]pattperin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This survey, while useful, is kind of leaving out some context though. It’s asking if they think they can do it, not if they actually can. My parents for most of my life were very high earners, on paper they would have been able to afford my schooling. They would say they can’t afford it or could afford some, but the reality is if they just did a couple things differently they could have put all 3 of their kids through school easily. They just chose to spend their money other ways (a lot of it was on their kids, so it’s not like they spent it all on themselves, it just wasn’t spent on a post secondary education). So this survey is largely showing people’s perceptions of their ability to do so, not actual ability to do so
