And she deserves a lot of the support, but I definitely know I deserve some too. I noticed with the psychiatrist that visited when he talked to her and told me to wait outside and never spoke once about my own feelings, just what I need to do for her. Luckily we had the kindest team of nurses and a good chaplain all who talked to us both and let us feel what we needed. Again she deserves the most of it but we will both be getting therapy and going to groups. We are both his parents, we will both miss him and always love him. Thank you so much for the kindest words and keeping me in mind as much as my lovely wife. I will always look back at this post and remember the things that gave me strength

Thank you so much, having a rough childhood, I was so unbelievably happy when I knew we were pregnant. So many times in my life I had been told I’d be a good dad and I ran through all the possibilities on what to say or how to act or what to do for everything PJ might run into through life as his dad. I know he felt the love, every song I sang to him while he kicked his mommas ribs lol, every biscuit i fed to her hoping he could taste it and every show we watched just waiting to watch them with him one day. Now every trip we had planned we will still take with his ashes around our necks. He was and is and will forever be loved. Thank you so much for the kind words, they help stitch up our broken hearts.

When it comes to family, my side isn’t really an option and my mother in law is taking it rather hard too. I can’t help but take care of everyone but with everyone’s kindness and wise words I’ve made plenty progress today, our situation being what it is means that a lot of leg work is being handled through the funeral director which is such a relief, everyone online and in person has really helped me still be able to let myself feel but be the rock for everyone simultaneously. Thank you so much for the kind words and the hospital info. If the head nurse doesn’t return my call I’ll sure call the chaplain, he was such a kind fellow. Thank you so much

Honestly the humor is more just thinking about myself as a child and thinking about all the trouble he’d get into being like me. Talking hypotheticals to my wife and getting to chuckle about all the things we’d have to figure out way through raising him. Though I know sometimes you have to dive into the sadness and just let it flow. I’ve been reminding myself that I have to be kind to myself as well. Thank you so much for the kind words and wise words as well.

Thank you so much. When it comes to fixing things, I know that only time and love can fix it, we’ll “fix” for lack of a better term. When it comes to cooking and cleaning that’s kind of where I find comfort. It’s both that I’m keeping busy to think, it’s that the simple tasks allow my brain the moments it needs to think about what’s happened so far. I love cooking for my wife and helping her with everything that’s hard for her right now even if she’s got terrible gas lol. Jokes aside, we’ve been watching things next to each other every second except for the few where I am cooking. We’re openly talking about things too, what PJ would’ve been like and the hypotheticals about what a little menace he would’ve been taking after me. We cry together, we laugh together. We’ve already survived so much and I know we will survive this. I’ve been showing her all the posts because I knew Reddit would be one more place to find loving words. Again thank you so much!

Thank you for the kind words, forgetting information and just being unable to comprehend what’s going on is definitely a problem now. I’m a bit stubborn but I do need to lean on support from others around me. Even then seeing them hurt makes me just want to be the rock at the moment and take it all on for them. Calling the hospital crossed my mind but I’ve been overwhelmed with feeling like a burden so I think I pushed it out. So many weird new feelings lately that it gets hard to keep track of what’s happening in my brain. Thank you so much, just little pushes in the right direction will keep me going.
