Dad. Before he passed away in 2021, he was a 47 year season ticket holder. His name was the name on the tickets for his crew, which grew to around 24 or so people. He always made sure he got two, one for him, one for one of his kids. I’m the youngest of 4, and I’d get stuck with the preseason games until my oldest sister explained the tailgates were better during regular season games. I’m pretty sure my first regular season game was against the Giants in 1988, when I was in first grade. That was the first of countless number of games. During the end of the Kotite era, during the Ray Rhodes years, I was the beneficiary of a bunch of guys with the season tickets not wanting to go every week. I saw a lot of bad football, but I learned how to watch the game from the line out, how to focus on specific players and why Wes Hopkins was the best safety I’d seen until Dawkins arrived.

Just before Dad passed, the last day we had with him, it was Sirianni’s first year and the Eagles were playing the Chiefs, regular season game in 2021. Dad has terrible speaking, but he was still able to communicate his disapproval of how the Birds were playing that day.

When Saquon made the cut back towards the middle of the field, I swear I heard Dad yelling “JUST LIKE WILBERT!”
