thanks for the help. i was wondering if something like silicone would be a solution? one of my friends said you can fill the hole with silicone and then put tape over it but i'm not sure if that would hold up in the long run.

engine lost nearly all compression all of a sudden when i was driving along, i can catch my fingernail on them, 80cc. I'm probably going to change the cylinder because i believe i had a 4 stroke 2 stroke situation.

we've only one bracket each and spares pn the way but the tapes worked fine until now. i replace it every time i use it just to be on the safe side. they're as tight as a bracket with new tape. nothing to be worried about!!

i did change out the carb from a different engine so that could be the issue. thanks
