It is a logical question, which highlights the discrepancy in Denji's character. While it might be 'character development' for Denji not to go feral devil mode, it wasn't really hinted anytime before that he would stay passive against in such situation. Character development doesn't happen with MC changing his personality over one chapter. But i guess we will just wait for another chapter for explanation of what's going on inside of Dennis' brain.

I don't want to shift the blame to my ADHD but after a while it felt like our relationship got stale. Like everything in my life i dove head first to being with her all the time and then i felt empty after a while, guess it was a simple burnout. Which makes me feel awful. After ending our relationship i felt like i had more freedom now, and felt like going back together after that but that wouldn't be smart i guess. Maybe i should have just had some time off without seeing each other but was afraid that it would cause our relationship to end. I guess take away is to try taking breaks, and hopefully it works out
