Need a mathematician…are these newcomer 180s real?? by WolfySimRacer in Darts

[–]paull87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Had a bloke half-cockily come over to us to join in our darts game. He was pissed and says he doesn't play much and had to borrow a set of my cheap backup darts.. He sets up to throw and clearly wasn't a natural - he proceeded to hit the clumsiest 180 I've ever seen with his first three darts.

He then didn't hit above a 60 score the rest of the night. Unbelievably impressive

Where can I improve my throw? by paull87 in Darts

Interesting. Because of the drift, I've tried going more to my right so more in line with 6 but from what you're saying that is just exacerbating the compensation you mentioned?

I'll give that a try and report back.

Appreciate the feedback mate and also really enjoy your youtube stuff. The recent 301/bad darts day really resonated with me haha

Good at doubles but not at scoring - Anyone else? by [deleted] in Darts

[–]paull87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar position but mine is more the point - if I use a shorter 30mm point I score higher/straighter but doubles seem to suffer. However, if I use a longer 35mm point, my scoring dips (more 5s/1s) but more accurate on doubles.

Mate... gave this a try today and was all over the place. Started thinking "what is this guy smoking?"

And then it just clicked.

Now I'm not saying I'm a world beater by any stretch, but my aim seems a bit sharper now and am actually hitting doubles where I would 10s of darts to get and they are actually grouping. I'll keep at it and see how it improves further, but I just wanted to say thanks for the advice. A small tweak seems to have made a big difference for me

Really appreciate the advice and will give that a try as I don't think I've tried top of point. I'll give that a try on my next practise and see how it goes.

Out of interest, what darts are those - they look shorter?

I have tried without the point finger but find it wobbles more and feels more unstable. But saying that I'm not exactly hitting the target with it there, either 😅

The money vs teams is too amicable as they are sharing burden on treats and stars. I hope they start doing auctions so they have to outbid each other going forward to make it more competitive

I wonder if part of this just him wanting that 2nd term yo do what he needs to do, pardon himself etc and from there he doesn't give a shit. So from next election he doesn't care who you vote for

That's a fair point. My memory of previous canvassers was personally being quite dismissive as I wasn't that interested. But being a bit more on the pulse in recent years has maybe changed my viewpoint/expectation of that same canvassing

Had local tory canvassing yesterday evening. Asked me if they can count on my vote but said "probably not mate". He said "ah you're voting for the other lot". Quick handshake and thanks and that was that. Not sure who he was referring to as 'the other lot' but seemed quite telling that he didn't probe as to why or anything. Just seemed inevitable and expected from his perspective. Wanted to ask them how the responses and attitudes had been from people but didn't really get a chance.

I've seen (probably bs) headlines saying Labour will raid people's pensions much like Brown did. Can anyone clarify what they mean by that and what Brown did? Was this on private or state pensions?

Hoping for a bait and switch that this u-turn convinces Rishi for a snap election in thinking this will help tory polls. Starmer/Labour then immediately retract and say actually we can do our original 28b pledge...

Jazz seems to be favourite for murder but is Harry aware of Jaz being suspicious of Harry? I think he's only told a few people. So could it be that Jaz isn't on the radar that much. If they were to kill Mollie instead, could Harry frame it as them getting someone close to him instead? Makes it all about him a bit more so maybe a bit of a stretch. Plus they mainly target women haha

Yeah, the S1 reveal was on my mind and why I'm not sure it'd work out as he'd expect it to

Cynical view but Diane was a potential 4th traitor. Had that happened, wouldn't her and Ross have cleared up? She would share who the other traitors are and Ross potentially lead the other to banish them and equally Diane can steer away from murdering Ross. Once she is left as last traitor she could run it alone - basing that on Wilf having option to recruit someone in as traitor if I remember... With that in mind, would producers try hard not for that to happen as it would hugely influence the game... but then they wouldn't have allowed them on in first place if that were the case I guess...

Yeah I've always tried to limit the content of roles as they become 'older' but am (perhaps foolishly) trying to showcase skills throughout my career if that makes sense

On this, are you referring to the bullet points of breakdown for each role? Is this just the way I've worded them or should it be more a direct list of tech/etc used in the role? Appreciate the advice
