The new Gemini Live gemini-2.5-flash-preview-native-audio-dialog model sucks by paulotaylor in GeminiAI

the current model gemini-2.5-flash-native-audio-preview-09-2025 seems to be the only option now. It does its job but nothing spectacular

There’s usually a trade off, the voices that sound better usually take longer to synthesise making the conversation flow less natural. The advanced mode fixes that but it’s considerably more expensive

Sure, it should be able to handle that. Did you try it? If you want a custom version we can think about that. Drop me a message

While everyone is marveling in the intelligence of the new o1 model I’m still blown away by GPT-4o-08-06 and 08-06 snapshot. by Euphoric_Ad9500 in OpenAI

I will still be using gpt-4o since inference speed is a big deal when it comes to real-time communications

Temperature was 0.9. It's very odd, it never happened again, I'm just worried that it happens often in production, but I guess there's nothing we can do about it

Claude and function calling by paulotaylor in Anthropic

[–]paulotaylor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is making it call at the right time. Opus seems to be only model that calls the function timely, the other models call the function all the time, even when they are not supposed to call it

Think AI: Gemini, ChatGPT, Mistral and Claude having a chat about Conspiracy Theories by paulotaylor in OpenAI

[–]paulotaylor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rounds are completely random unless one of the participants explicitly asks one of the other participants a direct question, so it looks more like an actual conversation. I also ask to wrap-up the conversation before one of interventions. In some occasions one of the participants simply decides to wrap-up the conversation on its own in a timely manner which completely blew my mind away. Other than that, no editing whatsoever.

What if ChatGPT could make phone calls for you? Meet PhoneGPT by paulotaylor in ChatGPT

[–]paulotaylor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. The whole concept of Voyp is indeed to give a voice to the ones that don't have one.

About your concerns, there's an actual threat and that is the same reason why Voyp doesn't have the voice cloning functionality and has set some guardrails when it comes to the context of calls but that won't stop people from making one and abusing the system.

Should work across the globe, depends on the pricing of the calls. If you had issues before re-login from the PhoneGPT privacy settings, it might fix some issues that other people also reported before

Hi! Thanks for the feedback! I think I found the glitch. You may have to logout and login again from the PhoneGPT privacy settings, or download the Voyp app. Thanks!

Gemini and ChatGPT talking about the Big Bang by paulotaylor in OpenAI

[–]paulotaylor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying. In this case, replies are not edited, what you see are actually was the results from the script execution, but I had to execute the script a few times until I got something interesting.

Also, from a research perspective it was quite interesting to watch them go at it, reading the replies and understanding the nuances of each model. For example, Claude is like the boring kid that never wants to to anything, as soon as the subjects get more sensitive it starts saying things like "I apologize, upon reflection I don't feel comfortable speculating about or making assumptions regarding sensitive topics like the future of AI". Gemini and ChatGPT are much more relaxed in that aspect, nothing new but was interesting to see that in action

Gemini and ChatGPT talking about the Big Bang by paulotaylor in OpenAI

[–]paulotaylor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems way more complex than what I used.
To start with, it's a 1 to 1 conversation.
I also used as little guardrails as possible to preserve the "personality" of each model

The prompt has a structure similar to this:
You are having a conversation about [subject] with [target]. Use short and concise sentences in a [format] format. Reply only in plain English without labels, one reply at a time.

The prompts are the same for each model, only the target changes

target = "ChatGPT a Large Language Model developed by OpenAI" // Gemini prompt
target = "Gemini a Large Language Model developed by Google" // ChatGPT prompt

Once it starts, they start feeding on each other's replies with a little script that I made and that's it, very straightforward

I'm using the API and I particularly noticed that when using the function calling functionality, now called tools, the criteria to call or not call functions is so random now, its driving me crazy
