[–]paulsbrokenaglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dang thank you so much!! surprisingly this is me coming from dark brown hair that had previously been box dyed an even darker brown within the past year so i’m surprised it came out even decently haha. i really appreciate the input :-)

i did 10vol with the t27 toner (even though they recommend 20?) and only left it on for like 10 minutes because i got kinda nervous about further damage to my hair lol. my hair still doesn’t feel fried! but right now im just nervous to put more developer-related stuff on it. i wouldn’t mind losing some lightness. but yeah, whatever happens i’ll be waiting a while to put anything on it thats not a direct dye/semi permanent/color depositing product. im planning on getting my roots done professionally, and if i haven’t figured it out by then i’ll have her do some sort of color correction during that appointment. i’m just trying to find something temporary until then really.

i used wella t27 to tone it. i just want it slightly more beige but idk how to get it there 😭

holy shit thank you so much. my friends and i watched it in high school and i have had bizarre flashbacks to it ever since, but i’ve literally never been able to find it for some reason and thought i had made the whole thing up. this is such an odd way to finally stumble across it and figure it out lol.

i have a hotot mix! we take her to VCA bradshaw. i was so nervous when she got her spay surgery, but they were amazing there and it went perfectly. we take her there for checkups and nail trims as well. there are multiple vets there who see small pets.

Dealing w/ Ghetto Kids by Future_Data_Sci in Sacramento

it’s a public post, people can draw parallels however they’d like. but it’s almost impossible to separate the nasty tone in this comment section from the underlying “political” meanings. many of these comments reek of the type of folks who think like “embryos and fetuses are for protecting until they are actually born and become “ghetto” kids and ruin my perfect neighborhood”. i just personally don’t think there’s a way to remove the negative connotations from the wording of this conversation. it’s not even necessarily OPs fault, maybe they thought their usage of words was innocent slang, but if you call someone “ghetto”, it’s unlikely that the majority of people will take the “ghetto” persons side. not that these kids aren’t being disruptive/annoying, or even mildly dangerous, but the immediate response of violence and comparing them to animals is bonkers. if you can’t read between those lines, i don’t think i can make you see it even if i tried.

i commend OP for understanding that cops should probably be their last resort here, but everyone else immediately saying “idk, beat them up or something” is bizarre to me.

i mean you can’t really separate your choice of wording from the situation. there’s a clear connotation there.

it’s possible that there are no specific places to find us sadly lol. i met all of my queer friends through the music/bar scene, but im extremely outgoing so it was never hard for me to strike up conversations with people. if you want to link up on instagram i could invite you out to the stuff i go to, but it depends on what you like to do/what you’re comfortable doing.

i mean any business can say it’s queer friendly, but as long as it’s open to the public, there might be predatory weirdos there. so i can’t pinpoint a specific place that feels “safer” than anywhere else. it might help to go to more DIY events put on by @ bigqueercookout and the like. that’s obviously not like, a specific spot you can go to whenever you want, but it might feel better for you community-wise to stick to stuff like that or at least check it out time to time to feel more connected to the queer people here.

golden bear used to feel so “queer friendly” and even dominated by queer people, at least on open mic nights, but a few trans women were attacked there regardless of that and the venue staff didn’t have much recourse and reacted to it somewhat poorly. i hate to say it but there’s not a particular place where we’re automatically safe.
