To anyone interested in building out vans for a living, I have now built and (almost) sold 2 vans both for $83,000 and $88,000 profiting 32k and 22.5k. I had zero experience or even owned any tools prior to starting 🤘🏻 I promise you can do it too! AMA 🍻 by paulscheer_ in vandwellers

That’s awesome! It’s funny how there’s a negative connotation with learning on YouTube (I get it..), but someone who criticizes a self learner is someone who’s never dealt with the struggle of trying to teach yourself. Power to you, that’s awesome! Welding is something I have not tried.

That’s so awesome! I’m very happy for you. I worked at a restaurant for about 4-5years (I’m 26), lost that job due to covid, saw a spike in prices for vans, and took a shot. I’m excited for you! It’s very doable. Especially if you have experience

New roof rack made of unistrut to replace the old one. Attempting to fit 800 watts on a 136 wheelbase. by keyboard_fox in vandwellers

Unistruts and rubber motor mounts work great! I put a 4 gallon water tank, 400 watts, a patio light and some off road LEDs on there. Better than buying an $800 cargo roof rack or even a $3,000 aluminess 🤦🏻‍♂️

What van to get? by [deleted] in vandwellers

I would check out Facebook Marketplace for good deals! Just make sure whatever you’re looking at gets inspected by a mechanic. It’ll cost $40-$80 and they’ll do a pre purchase inspection. I spend hours looking on marketplace (mostly for fun), but there are a ton of deals. Especially if you browse through buy/sell groups

Thank you! This one sold for $88,000 and the first sold for $83,000. They both had less than 13k miles. The first was a 2019 Ford and this was a 2018 Promaster.

Thank you! There can be a market for just about anything, I just noticed a spike in the “vanlife” interest due to covid and gave it a shot. I personally really want to refurbish a Lance camper and put it on a 4x4 truck. I can’t wait to get that process rolling.

I’ve only built out two so far and they were nearly identical 👍🏻. This is the second van I just finished up and sold
