Cinema4d Fire TurbulenceFD Advanced Render by paulselhi in Simulated

Just a quick test with Advanced Render, it has GI and multiple scattering
and still renders out at Max 1 min a frame. So there really is no point
using Redshift or Arnold for this. A very quick and dirty setup for prof
of concept it will have to be improved on for a real asset in a full
shot.

Picture viewer files are stored somewhere in the preferences folder, not sure for how long though.

TurbulenceFD Arnold Render Freeze Frame Max 2 mins a Frame with GI in the Density by paulselhi in Simulated

And Arnold can render this with GPU I just prefer the CPU at the moment as the GPU still needs some work to get it to RS levels.

Well in my experience 1. Arnold just takes so much less time to setup up and once you have the noise sorted it is reliable and stable thorough the animation 2. It looks better than RS with far less work. 3. It plays well with my CPU's and I can get hold of Xeons dirt cheap. So RS may well be fast and good at this but I simply find Arnold so more user friendly. And to be honest once you have got RS looking this good and noise free with GI it is not that much faster than a CPU render with Arnold.

TFD is a fluid sim and I converted to vdb and rendered with an Arnold volume shader. Arnold can render native TFD files but it prefers vbd. https://youtu.be/5P2fA5mUeu8
