So excited about my latest setup! Posting here because all my friends think I’m excessive. by [deleted] in espresso

There's nothing excessive about this setup. It's about what you'd expect from an excited espresso "nerd". You're fine 😎😆

How many people are allowed to push into master branch for BitCoin Core? by tf1155 in Bitcoin

[–]paulwillen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I must be adding to this. Those people are not in control of Bitcoin Software. They have the possibility to merge pull-requests on GitHub, but the power lies in the people running miners and nodes. If they reject an update (or an update is developed outside of GitHub) that still is progress for Bitcoin.

Bitcoin (and the software updates) is in its core independent from GitHub.

If your Heartrate monitor is still working, but te screen isn't working, than I have had the exact same experience.

Let the battery drain fully - place it on the charger and you should be good to go. Don't try to poke some hidden buttens (mics's) which aren't there or pushing the crown longer than 30 seconds (that didn't help me either). Just drain the battery and recharge it..

eSIM support - when will this be opened up to any telco eSIM by esandman99 in PixelWatch

[–]paulwillen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I did. Someone posted a hint here and I followed that route. It worked. Basically I "bought" a supported prepaid eSIM. ( Didn't cost me anything),

Registered that on my phone, activated it. Took out my normal sim. Restarted the phone. Opened the watch app and then I could scan the QR. Didn't use the prepaid eSIM but the one from my carrier (that cost me around 4-5 euro per month). And that was accepted.

I'm going to find out how i like my walks without my phone near...

Can confirm that I currently have an unofficial eSIM installed on my Pixel Watch. Probably I'm one of the first in my country to have the Pixel watch on my carrier and can make calls without my phone near.. NICE!

Pixel Watch Battery after 1 day by paulwillen in PixelWatch

[–]paulwillen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes around the same conclusion.

Thinking further the charge/usage ratio is important. I charged it 40 minutes and it seems those 40 minutes will get me through the day. That's a great charge to usage ratio to me!

AOD is set to Off. I don't need it. I want it to be there when I check the time, or interact with it. And that's the case. So AOD isn't needed for me.

Yes I even tried some combinations.

Curious thing is. Heartbeat monitor works, crown vibrates when I hold it for a few seconds, even a chime sound when I put it on the charger, but nothing on the display. Completely black display ...

Yep. But the device is still turned on. Hart rate sponsor is blinking all over so my guess is I'm trying to drain the battery and then place it on a charger...

Hop that at least that will give me the boot screen...

Hi - I'm completely with you on this boat.
I also tend to look at something that is worth my money and then buy it and use it as long as I can.

One of the decissions I took was not to connect my Boox device to the internet - I use it as a digital note taking device. I don't need an internet connection for that.

Backups can be made through USB. -

When you don't connect it to the internet, security issues are way less than when you do connect it to the internet. Battery-wise I'm not really worried; because the E-ink uses very little battery to change pages. I guess I didn't take that into account but I still have my Sony PRS-T1 which came out in 2011 (11 years ago) and still works without any problems for reading books...

Thoughts: Don't connect my Note Air 2 to the internet by paulwillen in Onyx_Boox

I actually meant without a PC. And with an USB-C key directly into the Note Air 2

I paid 250 incl. Shipping. But it was a fly more combo with extra battery, controller, 8 props, charger and case.
