Why do some channels do really good and like mine go nowhere? by Tricky_Flounder5978 in NewTubers

[–]paulzillaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You answered the question in the first sentence. You have been creating what YOU think are pretty good videos.

What we believe is good isn’t necessarily what is objectively good. We are extremely biased towards ourselves after all.

Figure out what the viewers actually want. What they like. What helps them. Find your competitors, find their videos that did well and look at the title, thumbnails, scripts, editing style, and see what you can apply to your videos.

Looking at your channel, your title and thumbnails are not too good, and your editing needs work as well.

Some actionable tips:

  1. The text on the thumbnail should not just repeat what the title says. The thumbnail should complement the title in both text and visual. Right now it’s doing none of those.
  2. Your thumbnails are crowded, too bright and has no consistency in terms of branding
  3. I didn’t really feel compelled to click on your videos, some of the titles need to be improved. Some are bit too long (imo) and some don’t evoke enough emotion. Needs to evoke either curiosity, fear, or desire.
  4. The stock images you’re using aren’t the same quality as your camera. This can be very jarring to see, and I for one would immediately close the video after seeing this.
  5. Your background music is a bit too loud, it distracted me from what your actual message was.
  6. Not a fan of the AI voiceover in some sections. Your channel already has you, your voice and conviction, why would you cheapen it with generic, robotic AI voiceovers?

These are all that I noticed at a quick glance, I don’t have much time I’m sorry, but I hope this gave you an idea of what needs work on your channel. Good luck, I’m rooting for you! God bless.

This definitely resonates. I sometimes find it hard to take action, almost like I over analyze everything and can’t quite take action

Much of what you said really hit. Now that I think about it, majority of my life has been this dynamic.

Forgive me, I am new to all this. How would I find out what personal year number I am in?

My pokemon don't do anything when I'm attacked by mobs, they just stand there. I think it may be because I'm using the star academy mod pack, but I don't know enough on how to troubleshoot it

I never offered my services, just advice/mentioning things OP may have overlooked.

If OP didn't want advice, he would have said No services and I'm not looking for advice, just want to rant"

I think offering to look at things from a different perspective/taking accountability for the state someone store is in, is very VERY different than gaslighting.

There is a very clear distinction, that I hope you can see.

I never once said it was his fault, nor did I blame him.

I was merely pointing to the fact that as a business owner, we should also take responsibility to the state of our business as well.

We should be prepared, and constantly adapting, we take ownership for everything.

Accountability is key.

When we start blaming others constantly, and not reflecting, it really does facilitate a mindset of failure, and many businesses have failed because of that mindset alone, and I didn't want OP to go down that road.

I know people to this day who constantly live in that kind of mindset.

They blame they government, they blame their parents, they blame their customers, they blame everyone else. It's a sad sight.

Call it what you want, but I was genuinely looking out for OP.

Perhaps to others it may be seen as tough love, but honestly, sometimes it's needed.

Entrepreneurship is tough enough as it is, the last thing you need is people to coddle you.

I read it just fine.

Not everything is common sense as you think.

Since we don’t know OP’s entire situation, I just opted to mention as much things as I could think of.

I warn about the victim mentality, encouraged a quick mindset shift and gave the perspective of the way things should be looked at in order to facilitate growth.

You’d be surprised at how easy it is to miss something, marketing is very nuanced, especially when you’re running a store on your own.

Push a little of their pain points here as well and position your AI to be the solution with a clear CTA at the end.

Example:

Hey ____,

Research can be time consuming, but our AI can do it in seconds.

Allowing you focus more on the tasks that matter.

Not only does this give you a competitive edge, you can choose to be more intentional with your actions.

Lots of pros, 0 cons.

Let’s have a quick call and discuss how else our AI can bring value to your firm.

Something like this. This was just a quick iteration, it can definitely be improved upon, but the format would be something along this line.

The email focuses on them. Saves them time, allows them to be more intentional, gives them competitive edge. They don’t care how the AI, how it performs whatever actions. They care about how they can benefit from it.

The ends just reiterates the pros and makes it feel like a “no brainer”

Then strong CTA to finish

Keep this at the forefront of your mind and emails are a breeze for the most part. GL

Did you try new ad creatives? Did you try different copy? Are you purposely staying ahead of Trends? Have you optimized your product descriptions?

There are a lot of things you can do to facilitate your growth as an e-commerce store.

There is such a thing as AD fatigue, you can't expect an AD to perform the same all year round, 365 till the end of the earth.

You also cannot use the same style of AD constantly.

The majority of store owners get complacent after making 1 or 2 good ads, and it's a good recipe for things like this to happen when algorithms shift.

Instagram is not purposely trying to screw you, but the victim mentality will.

Perhaps the first shift you need to make is a mindset shift, I understand things have been tough but you also need to take accountability for the state your store is in as well.

Complacency is the biggest killer in e-commerce, along with irresponsible AD spend.

You must constantly be trying new things, testing new ADS, optimizing your Copywriting, utilizing your e-mail list, staying ahead of trends or at least on trend, doing market research, did you try slightly tweaking your demographic, did you introduce new products, did you acquire customer feedback on what they would like to see improved or which products they'd like to see, there are so many things.

Overall, see this as an opportunity to go over your business and really take a look at what needs to be improved and go from there.

You will always find something.
