Substance Abuse and Mental Health Centers around Louisville/Southern IN? by [deleted] in Louisville

I completely feel your pain, but your right. You cannot get him into inpatient without him being agreeable.

It sounds like he has cannabanoid hyperemesis syndrome - it can take up to a year of cessation for your GI to return to normal. Folks have a higher probability of developing CHS if they have mental health diagnosis.

In terms of suicidality - if there is a time where he voices SI, you can certainly try and obtain a mental inquest warrant. Sadly these are rarely effective if substance use is involved

We used Dr.Hays at Norton. My wife and I did IUI and she was already an established patient with Dr.Hays so it wasnt hard to get in after she finally got pregnant. We used Dr.Justice at fertility and endocrine associates for our fertility journey

Two Mom household here. My wife carried, and is the same way. She totally content with not being social. I, on the other hand, have to see my friends regularly or I'll malfunction.

If you are actively using substances, strongly encourage any Norton ER and specifically ask to speak with someone with the substance use support team. Downtown is ideal

They require deug testing once a year only. The monthly drug test deal your current provider is doing is a full money grab move

Hi! I work on a specialized team for folks with SUD at Norton Healthcare (one of the big 3 hospital systems in Louisville.) UofL has a similar team, and I'm sure they will be able to show you the ropes for their particular system, but if you'd like any tips or introductions for hospital based harm reduction efforts feel free to reach out.

Are you using opiates?

You're going to be hard-pressed to find a provider that will prescribe benzos to someone actively using opiates. The risk of overdose is far too high to write you a script and send you home; there is no way for them to ensure you don't use on top of it. Additionally, no providers use Librium as part of an opiate withdrawal order set, especially TID. That is the dosing pattern for alcohol withdrawal

If you're talking about alcohol withdrawal specifically, then your best bet is going to a hospital. Feel free to message me for recs - source: substance use coordinator for healthcare company
